The
Monte SS is cut in half through the roof, frame and floor. A strap on the
drivers side and the passenger door striker hold it together. Interior,
motor, trans, dash, and drivers door had been harvested.

It's
sitting on a 1967 four door Impala. The Monte's front wheels have broken
through the windshield and it's rear axle is precariously perched on top
of the Impalas trunk.

|
The
rear of the Monte SS is almost falling off. Checking the axle code
wasn't easy. That's probably why the rear end wasn't taken earlier.
|
 |
The
loader brought the rear half of the Monte SS to the junkyard operating
room for emergency surgery. With a few strokes of the torch the rear was
removed. |
|
The
junkyard threw in the rear sway bar and springs as part of the deal. It
doesn't look too pretty right now but this rear end will launch the 79
Malibu quite nicely.

I
wanted to open the rear before I paid for it to make sure it was in good
shape. I was not disappointed. It was just like shucking an oyster
and finding a perfect 3.73 posi-pearl
