Carl Dodd's Chevelle Malibu -72Hello..I would greatly appreciate seeing my Chevelle on your web page...Here
are a few pictures of my 72 Chevelle...This car was a gift for my graduation/birthday
present in 1987.
The first thing I did was tear apart the engine and clean it up a
little. I re-did the heads, added a four-barrel intake/carb, added headers/ turbo
mufflers, and added the tires and Centerline wheels (15x3.5 front - 15x10 back).
I drove this car DAILY for 7 years straight until a career change
brought about a lot of driving. So, this put the '72 in the garage...
I have neglected the engine pretty bad, basically just kept it
running to get me from 'here to there'. Now I would like to build up a STRONG 327 or 350
to drop in it or maybe just overhaul the 350 that is in it.
Again, thanks for letting me send you these pictures and info...

Update. 1999-02-25
Hello Christer,
Just wanted to drop you a note about my car. I know you are an
enthusiast, so I thought you might appreciate the update.
When I first sent you the pictures and story about my Chevelle, I was thinking of
building a 327 or re-do the 350.... Well, I bought a 350 4 bolt main
block for starters. I took the block to a local engine shop to have
have it magna-fluxed before proceeding any further. It checked out good
so I bought a 383 stroker kit from Speed-O-Motive. This kit included a
new crankshaft (400 stroke crank with 350 main journals), new 30 over
pistons, reconditioned 5.7 rod bolts, and all rings and bearings needed
for bottom end.
If I build everything the way I want, it should pump out
around 450hp! So now I am saving more money for the machine work on the
block and assembly. This may take a while to complete the full engine,
but it will be right when it is complete. I will send pictures of
engine when it starts taking shape.
