The car is now painted in "hookerlipstickred" according to my friend. Rims and tyres are on it's way, ordered from USA. Inner roof is left to mount and some emblems and chromedetails.
Update:
June 2006
Krister has rebuilt the car and have had the first startup with some minor difficult's with the fuel pump, but when running it's very smoth and nice.
Update:
January 2005
Well, the day came when I gave the project up. I sold the car to my friend Krister Petersson.
The story of My Chevelle
Malibu
I own a Chevelle Malibu -66 2 dr
ht. I bought it in the spring -91 and drove it the summer -91. But there was many
irritating small faults on it, so I decided to rebuild the engine, change the interior and
fix the electric system. When I started to dig in the car I found more and more faults, so
at last the whole car was in pieces.
My friend, Krister, stripped the engine (327" with Mickey Mouse
cylinder heads, Rochester 4 bbl carburetor) and asked me if I really had driven this
engine. It was totally warn out, so he fixed a new engine (383" (350" block with
400" crankshaft) rollercam, geardrive, predator carburetor and new Corvette aluminum
cylinder heads.)
In writing moment (07/10/97) the frame is sand-blasted and painted
with the new engine mounted, waiting for the body which will be sand-blasted and painted
in a near future.
Unfortunate, this took longer time than I expected too because I've
had some bad luck with delivering of some of the above parts and also that I've got tired of the project sometimes. But I will not give up. It
shall come out on the streets again.
