Resident Evil / Living Dead Crossover Roleplay

Return of the Living Dead
Tie-In

In 1966 Darrow Chemical Company was ordered by the military to develop the top secret chemical called Trioxin. The cover story was it would be for marijuana defoliation. An accidental leak into the Pittsburgh VA Hospital morgue resulted in a contamination that literally reanimated corpses. The Army Corps of Engineers contained the bodies inside airtight biohazard drums. During the rushed coverup, some of the freelance truckers used to ship the containers mixed up the drums. Despite vigorous interrogation they were unable to discover where they had ended up.

Of note is a smaller accident which resulted in a spill of an early form of Trioxin which happened near a graveyard in a remote farming area. A handful of people were killed in a farmhouse but the situation was easily contained ... this variant of zombies being shambling and slow moving.

What the Army did not know is that the lost "Easter Eggs" had been rotting in the basement of a medical supply warehouse in an industrial park outside Louisville, Kentucky. Then on the night of Friday, July 3, 1984 a drum was accidentally breeched. By Independence Day, 12 hours later, yet another cover up had begun. Of note : This variation of the 'zombies' were fast moving and at least semi intelligent when not in a feeding frenzy.

The cover story was an industrial accident and explosion - the July Fourth 1984 Industrial Disaster of Jefferson County.

Darrow Chemicals was bought out by the Umbrella Corporation in 1972. Their accidental find helped them in their research which would eventually result in the Racoon City Outbreak. The government has also continued it's research using Trioxin and it's variants.
