CLIMMAX H.L.G

The Climmax is a hand launch R/C sailplane designed for thermal competition or just all around fun on the slope or at the thermal field. The Climmax uses the competition proven SD7037 airfoil, specifically modified to improve stability in tight turns and also to extend the glide penetration in up wind conditions. The critical balance of wing area, aspect ratio, and airfoils, empower Climmax to glide flat and far, in search of small thermals. Once the thermal is located, the tight turning ability and rapid climb rate make this sailplane most enjoyable.
The Climmax is also ideal for flying light slope conditions. The full flying rudder and responsive elevator make this plane very aerobatic, capable of doing fast turns, rolls and loops. These aerobatic qualities make the Climmax an ideal choice for those who may be looking a sailplane which is rudder/elevator control, but responds like an aileron plane. The kit builds quickly and easily using a balsa and ply build-up box fuselage and foam core balsa sheeted wings.

30/11/03: I acquiring this glider at the Harrogate Show (no show only trade stands) for 25, it was complete and ready to fly including reciever with crystal , 2x mini servos and 2 x non-rechargeable batteries (123A Photo Lithium).

06/01/04: I have tried it out and by throwing it, could get a complete circuit, then we tried winching it up on a fishing line (running with it) but could not go fast enough, so used a double pulley system that made it a lot better, had to stop then because it got too dark. Will try again in better conditions.
