Ribbons and Prayer Rocks

This must have some religious reason.  We joked that it must be for couples who are in love.  The rock pile in the background is common around religious areas.  The rocks are placed for each prayer.  There must be something to it because most the prayers said are for boys and Korea now has a larger population of men than women.
