| EYE: The Recent News | ||||
| 2/23/08 Well, it's been over a year and EYE have done nothing. No practices, no gigs, no anything band related. What have they been doing, you ask? Just sitting there listening to music and riding quads in the dunes. Well, at least there is music involved. Eric was asked about the band situation, and what of plans for the future to which he replied, "We'll finish the album soon. I'm mostly looking forward to seeing OPETH at the Roseland Theater in May! Don't worry, we haven't given up on music at all...as a matter of fact, we have gotten together and practiced. However, we're just taking a break. Tim here will let you know when the ball gets rolling." I'm sorry for the lack of updates, but this is all I've got! - Tim 1/22/07 The band has been on a hiatus for awhile, obviously. There are 5 new songs completely finished for the untitled 5th album due later this year. The greatest hits album has been scrapped for now. Keep checking in for updates. - Tim 8/2/05 Sorry for not keeping up with this site! Eric has been bugging me to post something, and so here it is. He has a producer credit in the film "The 1 Second Film". IMDB gave him the credit to officialize it before the movie comes out. Check out his page here! Eye IV: An Eye was released on time and has had awesome response. Most people say it is the best album...by far! I agree. The others say Eye III is the best, but most just love IV! Anyways, the band have been busy. Just last month, they recorded two cover songs for the release of a greatest songs album, to be released later this year. More news on this later. The songs are up in the downloads section, and they sound awesome. Especially 'Marian' (originally by Sisters of Mercy). The band wants to continue to thank you for your support, and ROCK ON!! - Tim 11/1/04 Well, there is lot's to tell. EYE is going strong, and has been busy. The new album, entitled, "EYE IV: An Eye" has been slated for a December 21, 2004 release. The new album shoud be a surprise to many, as the album has some synth effects. It is definitely heavier, but more importantly, depthful. The tracks are all (according to the band) "lushful". Some songs have over 30 total tracks. The band has been asked to send a demo to over 4 labels, but the band has yet to bite. According to Eric: "We haven't sent anything in yet. It's one of those things like we're too occupied with our lives to worry about the political part of getting signed. Getting signed is no big deal. It's not a promise of money if you do (get signed), so what's the b.f.d.? It's not like somebody's handing me a check, and until that happens, the world can kiss my ass. I'm not going to try and we all completely agree that it's not about the money until the money shows up at our front door. Do I expect that to happen? Hell no, but that's the irony of it that we are completely happy with. We've all been making music for years now, and have put our hands into the political system of it all. That shit's all long gone, and we're very happy with where we are at. Our cult following seems to be happy, and if it grows, it's all on account of these people that like our tunes, not our posters. Demo? Is that what we do? Is that what everybody does to get on MTV? F*ck MTV. The point is this: what we do is play music for us. Not you. If you like it, buy it and listen to it. Share it with your friends. Isn't that the way it started?" Sounds like the guys have it down if you ask me. Do them a favor and pre-order 'EVE IV: An Eye' now through paypal or e-mail [email protected] for special arrangements! - Tim 10/22/04 EYE s/t re-recorded As if the band hasn't had enough work on there hands, they have done something special for their fans by re-recording 95% of their first LP, 'EYE'. It sounds totally bad-ass and, as no surprise, has some surprises. "We had a few days, and since we knew the songs so well by playing them in front of so many people so often, decided to lay down the tracks while in the studio while recording EYE IV: AN EYE just for fun. We weren't planning on doing anything further with the songs but they turned out so good, especially compared to the original recording in 2001, that we mixed them and made up 2,000 discs to distibute. Hopefully, they'll be well accepted. I don't see how they couldn't be compared to what they had before. It's sweet. Now I can actually stand to hear that sh*t (on Eye s/t). Before it was like, "turn that #@@#$@##@ off!"- Eric. The band would like to thank all that were involved for this adventure...you know who you are! - Tim 5/15/04 The new songs are almost all completed with a studio time of August 15- September 6 slated. The band is looking for a keyboardist to lay down some tracks when they get in the studio. Send your resume to the e-mail address below if you are interested in the job (are: Portland, OR). - Tim 3/11/04 Well there are 4 songs done for the next album, but the band are moving to another town, so it may take them all summer to do it. - Tim 10/04/03 The new album 'The Third Eye' is almost finished. The sound clips are up! The band would appreciate your feedback...good or bad. Let them know how much it sucks so they can fly across the country to personally kick your ass a la Jay and Silent Bob. Email your hate to the e-mail address below. - Tim 5/18/03 Well I've finally got this site up...I'm working on all the links on the main page. The new album, EYE II, was released on April 22.
