Tampa Bay Restaurant Reviews

Tate Brother's Pizza
233 E. Davis Blvd

The first time I went to Tate Brother's Pizza it was after an extended stay at Tampa General Hospital down the street.

I managed to limp past the juke box and procure a spacious booth in which to rest my gangrenous left foot. I ordered a pitcher of Michelob Amber Bock which was not only priced modestly, but handily anesthatized the throbbing torment creeping up my left leg.

The young, attractive bartender recommended a pizza and, noting my 450 pound frame, thought a large could quelch my ravenous appetite. Taking her advice, I ordered a large pie with sausage, pepperoni, meatball, onion, green pepper, garlic, mushrooms, anchovies, extra-cheese, and ham. Suddenly remembering my diet, I told her on second thought to leave off the garlic.

I relaxed and watched the Florida Gators wrestle a red-clad team of collegiate footballers on the big screen TV Tate Brother's has set up in the dining room. The pizza soon arrived and was every bit as delicious as I imagined. Truly a first-rate pie.

I thought to myself, "If it wasn't for the hideous condition of my lower limbs, my dire financial straits, and the fact that my ex-wife is demanding 80% of my salary, this would be the life.

Tampa Bay Brewing Company
1812 N 15th Street

This beer-brewing haven for tranquility amid the chaos of Ybor City may be known for their succulent sauces and hearty ales, but one wonders what really goes on behind the scenes. You see, essentially every item on the menu features goat cheese. Every one.

Does the chef simply have a predilection for this bearded, horned mountain dweller? Or is something much more disturbing. Something so shocking, so horrifying that even I, despite the relative anonymity of the World Wide Web, am afraid to speak of?

Tate Brothers Pizza, take 2
In the same way Plutos was blinded by Zeus so that he might dispense his riches indiscriminately, the good brothers Tate serve up ambrosial pizza and quality libations at prices befitting even the frugalest of Scrooges. Their pizza's crust is so succulent, you might think you're tasting the nectar of the gods right in the warm confines of Davis Island'sno, Tampa'sfinest pizzaria.

Albi's 123
123 South Hyde Park Avenue

Albi is a nice man. Until he catches you with his wife. Well, live and learn I guess.

Bella's Italian Cafe
1413 S. Howard Avenue

Bella's describes itself as an Italian cafe, but is that really accurate? A cafe is generally a small restaurant, perhaps with outdoor seating and a small menu that serves coffee, wine, and liquors. Bella's, on the other hand, is... oh wait, never mind.

Champions Soprts Bar
Marriot Waterside

Why make this a sports bar?? Come on people, you're passing up an incredible marketing campaign for a breakfast place. "Breakfast at Champions--for champions". Really!
