| The History of Maleficence | ||||||||||||||||||
| Maleficences' original incarnation began four years ago with four teenagers from different backgrounds, having mostly uncommon influences and playing styles. What they did share was their passion for music and the goal of progressing as musicans so that one day their ideas would reach the ears of metal fans around the world. While everyone elso was going to church, Sunday became their full day of commitment toward writing and rehearsing their lastest conceptions. You could say Maleficence became their religion. Since the bands' first practice in January of 2001 Bob Cappello, Leslaw Zyla, and Chris Calonis remained strong through Maleficences' various changes. Without a Second guitarist or a permanent vocalist, they had learned as a three-piece band how to continue sounding impactive. As a result from lacking a fourth or even fifth member in the band, they individually grew more creative at writing music and became tighter as a unit. In the next two years, with their sights set and their goal still in mind, the band plowed through any oppostion that stood in their way. By 2003, the intergration of musical influences was really starting to shine through in their music. Once they had realized that their abilites had exceeded those of the bands who originally served as an inspiration to three growing up. Throughout the next year Maleficence began picking and choosing the best aspects of doom, thrash, hardcore, early rock, grindcore, black metal, and death metal so that the possibilites of their music would be endless. Of much importance to them and still remains true to this day is that they never set out to put themselves in one particular genre. They believe all of the great musicans in history had never been supplicants to the reliance trends to determine their success. Those musicans aimed to set their own trends. Maleficence has set forth to follow in the steps of those great musicians. They hope to create music that the ears of both a Beethoven enthusist, and a fellow death metal fan could appreciate. |
