Back Tears
A sign of sadness,
A sign of pain,
symbols of sorrow that feel like rain.
Each drop of water,
each single tear,
signifies suffering
and reveals inner fears.

It is said that a parent should never have to bury their child, but what about their entire family? Malefice Geroad, lord of Castle Geroad (now Castle Malefice) had to find, clean, and bury the mutilated bodies of his son and wife, after he walked into the brutal slaughter set down by his now vampiric daughter. The meer thought of this day causes him to wretch, that his own daughter, his blood, would ever do such a thing to his family.
She saw him when he walked in and laughed, seeing the pain in his eyes, tears and sweat dripping into the river of blood coming from his son's bedroom. She fled, jumping from the window and running off into the trees. Malefice walked to the bodies of his family and cried, not knowing what to do.
He chased after her, not with anger, rage, fear, but with pity, wanting to help her, change what she has become in any way possible. He ran from the house, seeing her still standing in the trees, chasing after her as she ran again. He found her in a small clearing, begging her to come to him, back to her father, saying he would try and help her, that he would do anything.
But no longer was she his daughter, no, now she was a beast, a monster with only one lust in her heart, the lust to kill, lust for blood. She fought with him, Malefice taking many blows and wounds, a deep cut under his right eye being one of them. She was going to kill him, and he had no choice...
He fought back, using the sword handed down from his father and stabbing her in the heart, but only after she had bitten him on the neck, tearing the skin and drinking his blood. He didnt know what she was then, or what he was about to become.
He wailed in pain, not from the wound now on his neck, but from the wound now on his heart, the agony of killing his own daughter. He fell to the ground, shaking with sobs, and heard footsteps. Looking up he saw an old man, walking towards him shaking his head.
The old man watched as Malefice's daughter turned to ash at his feet, and looked to Malefice, saying how now he will have to live up to what she was suposed to, that he would be the one to bring the vampires back to this kingdom. He told malefice that now he was one of them, and he would not be able to change, never able to hold the lust already growing in his heart.

Malefice now wanders the kingdom, sometimes returning to the castle he renamed Castle Malefice. He wears an ivory mask, hiding his face from others and from himself, no able to look into his own eyes to see the man who had killed his daughter, not able to accept the creature he had become.
"The walls of my mind... painted with the bloody hands of children."
