LIL EYES

Lil eyes watched
As mother fell
Lil eyes watched
Tears brimmed full
Lil ears heard
Her mother yell
Lil eyes saw
Father in a rage
Lil eyes wowed
To hate all men
Lil eyes couldn't bear
Her mother's plight
Blood on her face
Tears in her eyes
Lil eyes grew,
Soul all bruised.
Beatings of a father
Forever crying mother
Lil eyes grew
angry forever

a muslim, a WOMAN

A baby was born
A mother left torn
A father frowned
A sister smiled
A girl! a girl! once again
Branded before it came
A name, a religion, a nationality
and so on.
Without a care, she howled
A girl once again,
A muslim once again
Years a three from then, 1978
On her father's shoulder sitting
A prayer call in her ear
A demonstration in her eyes
Her memory was born
She came with change
She will bring change
A muslim, a woman,
Shall not be silent again.
