POETRY BY SHADES OF EVIL

DEVIL IN HALLOWED ROBES
Down a road a man walks
Down through
the land of hawks
At his side
on the road
A devil in an
angels robe
The summer
passes, the man is doomed
He knows now
that he’d been fooled
He looks at
it and what he sees
Is not an
angel, but a beast
But too
afraid to be wrong
The hellish
union he prolongs
And soon the
man is broken
Shown no
mercy for all he’d given
Still the
beast walks the road
Still it
hides in the hallowed robes
But this man
is not there
Though it
thinks, he’s nowhere near
Then one day
when it comes back
Downs the
robe and then attacks
This man will
simply back away
He will smile
and be on his way.
CHILD OF THE LIGHT
Oh! Sweet child, child of the light
Thou eyes are truly veiled
For shadows seep across the lands
Still thou sense hath not been hailed
Though thou soul burns so bright
Reaching the heavens and into the night
Though thou love has no end
The vile of man knows no end
For come the darkness of the night
And fade away the shades of light
May come to thee a terrible plight
Beware the demons of the night
