POETRY BY MIDHATH

THE LANTERN BOY
here he was, the hooded one,
Carrying nothing but a lantern,
Face mysterious, end unseen
On the road of the unknown.
He sees them, crowding for warmth,
He wants to go, but do they?
His light beckons them, to escort
But only loneliness greets him.
The lantern boy walks on,
Wishing and waiting, like eternity
A furnish to come by, drawn to his light
To rest a hand through his journey.
