FATIMA's SHAME

Walking down the stony slope..
Ridiculed by all passing by..
A pan..
Burning with coals..
On top of her head..
Showing her sin..
Showing her shame..
Showing her love..
Her only sin..
Her love for Yusuf..
Hero to all..
Medals on his coat..
His limp walk..
Injuries of war..
They all said..
Gleaming with pride..
Smiling down he walked..
His cane tapping the stony ground..
Boasting of his conquests..
Pride on his steps..
His lion walk..

At the crook of the road..
They met..
His Fatimah..
Now with his child..
With that shameful pan..
Showing her sin..
Eyes towards the ground..
Laugh he did..
Loud and clear..
Resounding laughter..
Echoing..
Piercing through the air..

The silence..
So still..
Closer she came..
Her eyes now facing him..
I love you..
Was all she said..
Tears streaming down..
Her sad face..

The explosion..
They screamed..
They ran..
Explosives..
Have taken down the general..
His limp walk..
No more will be..
His medals..
All dusty now..
Mixed with blood..
His cane no more..
Will tap the streets..

Fatimah’s shame..
Her only sin..
Her love for Yusuf.

RUNNING ON EMPTY

My soul was drying..
Crackling like a dried leave..
Withering under the sun..

Then I heard a bird sing..
Reminding me of you..
A chirping sound..
Was all I needed..

The wind whispering..
Carrying your words..
The sunlight warming..
Hugging my soul..

A child's laughter..
Echoing joy..
A couple walking..
Holding hands..
Their wrinkled hands..
Clasping to each other..

Reminding me..
That love remains..
No longer running on empty..

MY GYPSY HEART

Grief and pain were my intimate friends
I let them roam in my heart and soul
They enjoyed playing with my thoughts
They laughed at my agony

Until this gipsy heart of mine
Broke free from their talons
Just like a gipsy
Roaming from camp to camp
Wandering around the earth
My heart finally broke free
Free to sing, to laugh, to live

My beloved you are alive
You live eternally in my soul
You are forever in my heart
Not a second goes by
Without me loving you
Not a moment escapes
That I do not feel you
And this I promise my love
You’ll always be my lionheart

MOHAMAD JOSE - You are truly loved forever

A Thorn in my Heart

How I wish I could tell you..
What I have in my heart..
And as time goes by..
A cold and petrified thorn..
Has penetrated it..
Without being able to express..
What stirs daily in my heart..
It scares me so..
To have such feelings..
To hear your response..
How I would like to tell you..
That as I glance at the sky..
Your star reminds me..
Just how much I need you..
I open my heart to you..
To let you know..
How you light up my life..
Even though you are so far away..
You are so close in my heart..
How I wish you could hear me..
Hear my words, how I feel..
How I wish I could tell you..

A NEW DAY OF HOPE

Even in the darkest hours..
When all is still..
There is always a way..
There is always someone..
Sprouting through the hard rock..
A little flicker of hope..
A quivering in the heart..
A peace that comes..
Not only once, but many times..
A little flicker of hope..
A smile from a stranger..
The touch of a hand of a child..
A word just to say hi..
Just showing they care..
A peace that comes..
High from above..
A little flicker of hope..

YOU CAME INTO MY LIFE

You came into my life..
Like a sweet song of love..
A beautiful melody..
Like the morning dew..
On an autumn day..
You are the moonlight..
To brighten my night..
Your warmth like the rays..
Of the sun embracing..
You came into my life..
Forever taking away my pain..
To love again, to live again..
Seeing in your eyes..
The love forgotten..
You fill my loneliness..
with your presence
You came into my life..

THE VOW
Fair maiden of ebony hair..
Hair flowing freely..
Rejoicing her youth..
Awaiting her prince charming..
Unaware of her father's vow..

Jephthah's vow..
Let me conquer my enemies..
He screamed to the heavens..
Whatsoever you wish..
Whatsoever cometh out of my house..
Will I offer to you..
A burnt offering..
For the victory I will obtain..
My vow to you..

Walking down the path..
Jasmine flowers..
Tulips all around..
The fragrance filled the air..
His daughter's laughter..
Rejoicing her youth..
Running she came..
Father, father..
You are home..

Father, why do you cry so?
You have been victorious..
Father, father..
Don't cry..
You have won..
Let me mourn..
My youth..
Let me laugh once more..
Let me touch the jasmine..
Let me savour the fragrance..
Let me mourn..
The prince charming I will never know..
Let me mourn..
Father, father..
Don't cry..

THE SHAHEED

As the sparrows fly above..
Flying on borrowed time..
Wings flapping in harmony..
Our lips quietly whispering..
Our blood for theirs..
This evil war of aggression..
We must meet face to face..
We must conquer..
Submit to this sacrifice..
This war of justice..
Protection for our people..
Earn our just reward..
Seek a salvation from a sudden..
Eternal destruction..
This pursuit of holiness..
Daily we must seek..
This giving of life..
The power of taking it away..
Every single drop of blood..
Will blend with the earth..
Just like Cain slew Abel..
Why must we kill each other?
We carry the same blood..
Why must we shed it?
Why should it mix with the ground?
We all live on borrowed time..
For whosoever takes a man's blood..
By a man his blood will be shed..
For all who take the sword..
Will perish by it..
You leave us no choice..
But to become a shaheed..

Whispering A Prayer..

Softly, I say a prayer..
Almost a whisper..
Beneath the cries..
Whispering unto the night..
As this heart slowly dies..

Trying to sleep..
Tossing, remembering..
The soul still aching..
Whispering a prayer..
Speaking your name..
Calling unto the night..
Seeking your refuge..

Hoping, wishing, praying..
Waiting for an answer..
You came along..
Bringing me a song..
Words of comfort..
Music soothing to the soul..

From up on high..
An answered prayer..
The comforting touch..
Cleansing, caressing..
Healing this withered..
Tired heart..
