-LETTER TO CANADA, by Christopher R. Rice (2008)

I was not old enough. That is why; I could not explain this before now. At thirty-four years old, Canada has been my home the entire time.

In 2005, I worked on a paper-line, at a recycling plant. I came across many magazines, and receipts, but, it was a simple pocket book that began everything. Something from our trash, so phenomenal, that it did change my life.

Its contents, were a ministered sermon on moral civility. This sermon started my approach for our moral state in Canada. I have now finished what I have to share.

Canadians have a common voice. Its beginning was in the United States at 14:29 on July 1, 1941. The first televised advertisement. Media, and its technological tools of application, have solely developed the common voice of the people. This commonality is the birthing grounds of nationalism, social structure, family structure, and personal social attachment. It was how our young nation, was able to support a war in the defiance of a tyrant, aside the other nations of democracy. The same system is in effect to this very day labelling the common enemies to our free will and democracy. The prevailing issue is, 'sustaining' a nation's cultural development, with a Media. It is designed to provide entertainment, and functionality with marketing. It is not designed to develop civilians. The media is not to blame. There is no blame to lay here. But there is, an understanding to be re-instituted.

The common voice of the people is real, and so, are its effects.

Sacrificial Love

The Law of man is as follows. A human would sacrifice their love for those which are in need of Love's sacrifice. Sacrificial love includes conviction. Sacrificial love includes cruelty if needed. Sacrificial love is what a loving parent has for their children. Sacrificial love is the moral way, of providing understanding of self-denial. Self denial in process, leads to self discipline. That discipline being the foundation of a moral you. One who has earned their decency, and presence among the citizenry. Sacrificial Love is the entrance to Human unity.

Easy example of sacrificial love starts with a summer day in the early eighties. Sacrificial love, found parents, punishing cruelly it seemed, their children, by removing possessions, grounding them to their rooms, or, worse, the belt. But outside of negative physical and mental abuses, lessons of denial were acknowledged, and final.

Final, because, all parents regionally, expressed this same understanding of sacrificial love: That denial, as cruel as it seems, is the natural path to leading the child to understanding of conviction. Only through this self-denial, then developing, their personal discipline. Again, that discipline being the foundation of a moral you. This is considered 'a common thread of conviction'.

The Dominion of Acceptance vs. The Conviction of Morality

It is the year 2008, and we are a peace filled, and productive nation. Our national common 'acceptance' is to blame for; individual addictions, broken homes, over-fed greed, individualism, denominational breakdown, and the loss of one-on-one in-person conversation.

Holding no 'common conviction' as a citizen, groups your region as the same, conviction-less. And no conviction, means, forced acceptance of what you are given. Without then, this common regional 'Will', to question the impact of the forced change.

Acceptance also makes light of crime. Having our system of justice provide acceptance in its precedence is in itself a loosened noose of conformity.

Invoked common emotional scarring = Invoked common moral fundamentals

This being stated, see now, how the current Canadian justice system provides incorrect punishments. Cruellest, because, our justice systems corrective punishment involves no restructuring of commonality for the criminal; because there is no commonality to offer!

So, inadvertently, we have been isolating and depraving - instead of including, and intervening.

Our common voice can, and maybe should be carried by our media technologies. But, under no circumstances, should we sit by, idly allowing acceptance to milk the moral conviction from us.

The stand we must now take has a first step; it is sacrificing love for those whom need it. And denying those you love most, the weakness of modern acceptance. It will seem impossible, until you see another struggling with it also. As one person, then together in national dignity, we reproach all things with this moral well-being. Our common voice is our common truth. To sacrifice the love you work your whole life for, is not easy. But to that, I say this; what love is worthy of you, if you hold no conviction to defend it. Fear, pain, isolation, and deprivation, are the end solutions acceptance grants us.

Sacrificial love promises cruelty, denial, inclusion, and intervention. Promoting the truly needed growth, of the common moral string in us all, for us all.

A nation that advances technologically, without developing satisfactorily, a common moral equilibrium with said advancement; that nation will miss ultimately, the intended virtues of said technology.

God bless you Canada, show conviction, and stand up for those unborn, affected by our lack of moral foresight. Show conviction in your everyday, sacrifice the love you know is needed.

-Passivity and Harm

-Rather than address matters, there seems to be a trend in trying to make light of them. For example, rather than confront immorality there are those who joke about it, passing ill behavior off as laughable. A postponement of convictions takes place.

-"Thou breakest bread to the hungry because thou hast found a hungry man; take hunger away; to whom dost thou break bread" (Augustine, Sermon LIV. 3. , my italics)?

November 28, 2008

-Just as the eyes need vision and substance to see, so the soul needs food and drink to live! Christ says He is bread, meat and drink (John 6:35,55).

-Feed Your Conscience With Good Things - A Good Conscience Is Everything. This too, is walking in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) - the true and spiritual food propelling your feet. The fuel of spiritual food far exceeds that of the physical, as it is real, nutritious, energy; SUPREME.

-The experiences I have had, "fortunate" or "unfortunate," have added value to my writing. I know that pessimism and optimism alone are useless ways to understand. The need for people to have better help I have noticed. In attention, my solutions are stated.

-Love is more active than hate. Hate, in the most negative sense, means to NEGLECT. Love involves true consideration and activity (see Revelation 3:15-18).

-Love is active to do what is just.

-Taking at least an hour to rest when you come home from work can be helpful in regaining peace, your thoughts and a healthy sense of being. You lose these things, sometimes, with the stress that comes with work. Regain them.

October 11, 2008

-You need inner vision to keep your spirit alive - otherwise you might become inwardly crushed and to some extent, non-existent. You can endure much with such vision. Consider the possibilities for good things occurring.

-Being Versus Non-being

September 14, 2008

-Constriction of your sense of being, largely because of the evil of others - that is anxiety on some level ("non-existence" is a danger).

-Place. This is an interesting concept.

-Letting go of your hidden brightness and unhealthy control is what happens in positive dialogue and interaction. Such interaction occurs in fellowship, as when "...we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin" (1John 1:7).

-Furthermore, dialogue and interaction with others is a way for heaven to witness the levels of purity and intents of people. A self-controlled lifestyle does necessary duties in communication. If you are pure, your conversation matches your purity. Intents, good or bad, are made known. That is another reason why your neighbors are important. You need them and they need you. The love of God must be manifested! And when your neighbor is absent? The self-examining (1 Cor. 11:28) of a pure lifestyle and the extent of your self-control can be noticed in all-round purity, whether you are awake or asleep, full or hungery, hurt or ill, etc.

-Faith, Hope and Love and the Necessity to Think Good Things

-If God is able to do beyond what we ask or think (Eph. 3:20), then it is important not to limit Him. To do this you must be open to think good things. It is what Abraham did when God told him to offer his son "...accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead..." (Heb. 11:19 KJV).

-In bringing goodness and order to your life, you must bring goodness and order to your thoughts also. God has the power. He must be given His due place.

-When I did some babysitting, I noticed something about little kids. They want to play. They love to play. It keeps them focused and entertained. It gives them exercise and makes them tired in a healthy way (if they burn off enough energy). It also helps to make them more confident and happy if you teach them to do things like throw and catch a ball with you. Cheer for them every time they make a catch. You will need to throw the ball lightly into their outstretched arms at first. Building from this, getting kids into sports and a variety of activities at a very young age will be useful for providing them with necessary exercise, social learning, coordination-development and so on.

-The Hidden "News"

-Accountability in "The News"

-Every news item on "the news" should be followed with (or started with) WHO, specifically, IS BEHIND THE RELEASE of this particular "NEWS." This could be of far greater importance than "the news" itself. Then the audience can see whether or not "the news" is a public relations stunt by current governments or a perverted message from special interest groups, a corporate commercial in disguise and so forth. No more hidden news.

-The Plan

-Offer free volleyball nights (if you are able to), with a sharing time, paid out of your own pocket, for Christians and anyone else, every week of the year, until The Christian Coffee House is built. Consistency is important. Stop the hit-and-run-type-conversation, cheap and inconsistent, goofy, activities found many young people's groups. Stop the hit-and-run, pulpit-produced, unpractical, uncaring-type-sermons and scam-artist-type "gospel." Stop the lack of appropriate, consistent, in-person, Christian, dialogue.

-Notice the politics in your local church (if you happen to attend) and do not be naive. Christ said: "my kingdom is not of this world" (John 18:36). [1] Some information about the church and the wrong direction some have led it: (i) there are some who have decided to adopt early bishops of Rome as popes. But they were not popes, they were bishops. (ii) Peter, recognized by some as the first pope, was actually a married man (Mathew 8:14). (iii) Paul wanted Christian leaders to follow his example in being a working man - yet there are so many bishops, elders and pastors who do not actually do manual work, like the apostle Paul did, for their independent source of income. These could be arrogant church leaders, who refuse to get a real job. Perhaps they like to make others work and love free-laboring volunteers and tell victims "it's for the Lord," when they themselves slack off. [2] Maybe these church leaders who are perhaps too high-minded to work are like crooks, robbing from Christians - stealing the offering money they collect from innocent saints who do not realize they are being tricked. Many local churches do not even show the information about where all the offering collections are going. Follow exactly were all the money is going in your local church and the motives of your church leader(s) will become more clear. It was not said for nothing: "the love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10). [3] Unfortunately, the misuse of power in the church is what has happened to many pastors, elders and bishops (now among us) who currently rob the church of not only its material wealth, but its spiritual wealth also, largely in part by their laziness in not getting a regular job like the rest of us. Notice church leaders who do not have an independent source of income. Pastors, elders and bishops of this sort should perhaps consider resigning. Find out the soft-handed pastor, elder and bishop! Those who do not know what to do with their free-loading-type-church-leaders should take due attention and maybe stop contributing to the offering collections.

June 21, 2008

-At certain times, as an adult, a little alcohol beverage can be helpful (1 Timothy 5:23). Pay attention to the word "little." About two hundred milliliters of a drink around five percent works for me. Then I can still drive (if I must) without worrying about being over the limit. Most likely I will not even drive then, though, because if I drink I am usually at home.

-The players who are valuable help lead their teams to championships. I want to be that kind of player.

-If you are single, unless you make a point to do something, it usually will never get done - unless you have very generous friends or neighbors, for example, who are so kind to help out. While this teaches individuals a distinct, character-defining, type of responsibility, it can also be very tiring at times - unless more help comes.

-Canada's happy national anthem is not enjoyed and loved for nothing. "God keep our land..."? Whose God? The Christian God. This the most important point of Canada's national anthem! This must be remembered. Canadian law-makers and judges ought to uphold justice accordingly. Notice Sir Adolphe-Basile Routhier's poem:

O Canada!

Land of our forefathers

Thy brow is wreathed with a glorious garland of flowers.

As in thy arm ready to wield the sword,

So also is it ready to carry the cross.

Thy history is an epic

Of the most brilliant exploits.

Thy valour steeped in faith

Will protect our homes and our rights

Will protect our homes and our rights

-Unthoughtful Science

-The way much of postmodern science is conducted is one-dimensional, and therefore greatly unholistic, out of touch with humanity and ignorant of the way the world actually is. You cannot just focus on "what works." You cannot just focus on achievements and "breakthroughs." What good is it to be cured if that cure leads to worse illness? The world needs virtue before it needs a cure, but this is left out. Disrespect for human life, for example, leads to presumption and meddling; and therefore, bad science with serious consequences.

-Christian Dialogue

-I would like to find a place where consistent face to face dialogue for Christians is available. It does not occur in your typical local church or Christian university or youth group or Bible study. Do not forget the disciples met daily (Acts 2:46) - not just on Sundays, semester by semester or other weekly gatherings. There ought to be a place that is daily available for Christians to engage in healthy, exciting, activities together and speak freely - a place where helpful conversation is shared without unfair constraint.

If a guy lost his job, his fellow Christians will be there, the same day, and in person - he will not have to wait around for Sunday to come, or phone somebody, or schedule an appointment with his pastor or something.

There needs to be a consistent place where there is no pulpit (dialogue best happens at eye-level) and no respect of persons (James 2). It could be a Christian-owned, multi-purposed, facility supported by tenants or a large house (to begin with) or something.

The early Christians truly valued something: being together. It is not enough for somebody to offer his or her home once or twice. It is not enough to have "small groups." It is not enough to have Christian interaction on the internet or in church.

Healthy, exciting, activities and real, in-person, dialogue in an acceptable facility ought to be consistently available for Christians everyday.

-The Role of the Sportsman

-If there is a great need to kill enemies of our nation, I join the army. In the case of war, I fight and kill my opponents. In the game of hockey, however, I check and body check my opponents. I do not fight them and harm or injure them. To do so is unsportsmanlike. True sportsmen and sportswomen are virtuous persons.

-Moral Efficiency

-Truth: "...godliness is profitable unto all things..." (1 Timothy 4:8). The question this raises, is how? How, in the times that we live in now, can anything matter other than efficiency? Efficiency strongly influences this world. If the cause is efficient, what need is there of morality? What need is there for right and wrong if we have efficiency? The trouble with mere efficiency, however, is that it does not properly regard internal matters. Here are some examples: 1. "I'm bringing home a paycheck, everything is fine." 2. "The kids are fed and clothed, everything is fine." 3. "The chores are done, everything is fine." And as long as we are efficient, we are okay. But we are not okay morally. Our moral knowledge has become secondary - godliness has become secondary, virtue and the study of good character has become secondary. The most important has become secondary when it ought to be primary.

From an efficient point of view: 4. If we say homeless people have a mental problem, we can medicate them and they will no longer be a nuisance. 5. If we accept the wrongdoing of "gays," they will not concern us. 6. If we can call criminals mentally ill, especially those who go on shooting rampages, we can dismiss their behavior as mad, rather than evil. 7. We have done are jobs if: i) the television ratings are the highest, (ii) the song is number one on the charts, (iii) the book is the best seller, (iv) the movie is the top grossing film, (v) the stands are packed full. 8. If there is an earthquake, the plates shifted. 9. If the forest is being destroyed by pine beetles, we spray it. 10. If disease is spreading, we clean. 11. If we need more oil, we go get it. 12. If we have a majority, we are right. 13. If we feel hungry, we eat. 14. If we feel like sex, we find our spouse and have it. 15. If we want a better job, we get educated. 16. If we want to feel better, we go to the gym.

But good character is better than good deeds. Good judgment is better than good results. Efficiency is seen. The inner person is not seen. Godliness profits in lose or in gain. Efficiency profits in gain, but in lose it is empty.

Somehow, the truth has become clouded. Somehow in the modern world and contemporary times, secondary causes replace first causes. Kindness exists if it visibly benefits the corporation or company.

But good character with or without profit is to be esteemed. Efficiency will at times fail, but good character endures. Faith before fact. Hope before fact. Love before fact. When efficiency is needed, godliness leads to the best efficiency. A powerful king said, "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" Proverbs 9:10). Aaron's rod swallowed the Egyptians' rods (Exodus 7:12). The two greatest commandments Jesus claims are spiritual (Mark 12:29-31). These are good. They are not based on efficiency. They are of God - not of men. Paul's statement "...godliness is profitable unto all things..." (1 Timothy 4:8) is supported. It just needs to be practiced more - especially now. God, and the things of God (such as charity, justice, good character and virtue) need to be reinstated before efficiency. Then there is potential for great things.

-Virtue: A Forgotten Science

June 8, 2007

-Day by Day

-What many people need help with is their day by day experience (not too much the future, not too much the past). If you can figure out that much, you will not need to figure out much else. Having a goal is important ("where there is no vision, the people perish..." Proverbs 29:18). But some kind of method is needed (like what I mention on June 2, 2007) to help people successfully complete daily tasks. I need this year to be a good year. I need this summer to be a good summer. Therefore, I need this day to be a good day. I want to be able to do my work - without any trouble, if possible.

-Pragmatists hold that certain results can be achieved. They are partly correct. But only with God can anything be achieved, because power ultimately belongs to Him. Jesus truly claims: "...with God all things are possible" (Matthew 19:26). It is "with God" you can do ANYTHING - so long as you are "with God" (so you could not sin because it is contrary to all things and godly, proper, choice). Paul is correct in saying that "...godliness is profitable unto all things..." (1 Timothy 4:8). VIRTUE, then, must be considered in every task. The fear of some is that people will put "God" in a box. But His character is true and He gives mercy to thousands. People must not have a wrong God image. The fruit of the Spirit is a list of important VIRTUES. Virtue is something that really does need to be practiced more.

May 28, 2007

-A "sheltered" Christian? How about an "untaught Christian." Christians should be taught. They should be given understanding concerning the evil of some and the problem of evil. They need to understand how they can best live. They need experience. The innocent believer must be instructed and permitted to experience true experience.

-A true experience is the result of strong love. It is a spiritual experience. It is, for example, a proper deed. A false experience is the result of weak love. It is unspiritual. It is, for example, an inappropriate deed. Harmful addiction, irresponsible and uncommitted sex, and excessive drinking are examples of false experiences - these deeds are not of faith. They might lead to one becoming more spiritual because of their harm; however, self-inflicted harm is not the best way to become spiritual. Doing virtue (because of real love) is the proper way to become an experienced Christian. Doing virtue is appropriate experience.

-The Experienced Christian

-Experienced Christians are full of everyday, good deeds. They give a helping hand. They can do brutal working-class jobs while completing their tasks with conscientious perfection. They are proven. They have understanding. They restore hope. They know what to do and how to do it - anytime. They have a desire for God that evidently benefits others - truly.

-It comes down to how one should live, more than how things are or happen to be - hence the emphasis on justice and virtue by Plato. I can eat all my lunch or I can share it with that other person who does not have much money and is showing signs of hunger. My appetite tells me I could enjoy being more full, but my inner person tells me to share. On some level, I appreciate my own needs and what my senses say to me, but more importantly I must understand morally with my soul. This is where Plato is somewhat better than Aristotle. With my eyes I can see what is before me. With my soul I can properly discern and help. I am free to choose a particular attitude no matter what my senses say. By doing virtue I am free to command my senses more than they command me.

-The proper artists are interested in giving to people what they need (love, faith, hope) more than catering to people's wants. Profit-loving economists are inclined to give people what people want. March 2, 2006

-I now know more about what it means to "not want." It is true, God will provide for you and give you the desires of your heart - but you are wrong if you assume that God must make room for any greed-natured habit. You do not necessarily need a vehicle or bike (rather, prefer to walk - even long distances). You do not necessarily need a phone or cell phone (rather, prefer to mostly, if not entirely, communicate to people in person). You do not necessarily need a bit of fast food - even in the smallest portion (it is ridiculously expensive; rather eat only good bread and water - and a can of ravioli, filled with meat, or something... really, you do not need more). You do not necessarily need friends who care. You do not necessarily need a spouse or sex (be mindful - be holy). You do not necessarily need a college education. You do not necessarily need a resume. You do not necessarily need good references. You do not necessarily need help from your family. Pick up the cross, every day. Fear God rather than some kind of man-made system (a system that will play at you - even hurt you, if you are not careful).

-Problem: innocent being taken for advantage. Solution: expose greed-based systems while promoting true self-sacrifice and brotherhood. For example, there are many things people in North America ought to realize they can do without. Expose some products at play in our current economy: in the investing industry, technological industry, insurance industry, fast-food industry, etc.

-Civilizing Hockey

-Hockey is a game - not a war.

-Players who wish to fight should join the army, where they are allowed to injure... and ultimately kill, their opponents. The ARMY is the proper place for such players, not the NHL.

-Fighting in hockey should be banned in the NHL - as it is in Canadian Universities.

-Although fighting should be banned, clean body checking should always be an integral part of the game.

-The NHL referees have done a good job with the zero-tolerance hooking rule. Now is the time to eliminate fighting in the NHL. If the referees continue to use zero-tolerance kinds of policies, these will be easily understood. It will help the referees, it will help the players, and it will help everyone else who is interested in hockey.

-The Nature of Christian Love

-The self-control that is in love... self-control before birth-control (sex in the old testament - a small number of births noted where love is particularly strong - for example, Issac and Rebekkah having just two kids... this example I refer to here is not to say that sex more than twice is necessarily outside of a deep love - I think married people should go ahead and have more kids if they want to (and if they can truly afford to), or use birth control if they want to; however, I want to emphasize that where there is a strong love, there is self-control - and deep respect, and not necessarily a lot of kids or the use of birth control). It is a myth in contemporary times that some married people believe, that they must either use birth control or have a lot of kids. I think that this myth is an evil attack on the wholesome concept of a husband and wife being highly respectful of each other, deeply in love, and in caring self-control, and righteous, fun-loving, friends - a true couple who are not just joined together because of a sexual contract, but rather because of their true love. The Bible refers to sex as something that is a certain choice "he went in unto her" - not something that occurs as though by some accident or a lack of self-control. This is because self-control is a huge component in the nature of real love.

-How the "B-attitudes" are formed in love (blessed are those who mourn... the power of this... Jesus was a man acquainted with grief... how the activity of mourning can make way for a kind of grace, allowing love to be strengthened).

February 15, 2006

-If God has already promised to provide, how can Christians show God that they have more than just a little faith? By resisting temptation. By choosing to remain whole rather than choosing short-term gratification. Making a choice is important. Christians can demonstrate great faith in certain choices they make.

-Lately, I have been seeking more clarity in my day-to-day decisions. Even though it seemed like God was not listening to me, I kept praying. Finally, I was able to better grasp the power of God's Word. If God said it, it must be true. If God instructed it, it must be true. So knowing the truthful nature of God, "a just balance is His delight," I will proceed. I will quit hockey and school for now and pay off more debt. Unless I have more money saved, I will not be returning to school in September. Regrettably, this might mean no school and no hockey for me. This could really hurt me because I would much rather become a professional hockey player and sign a contract sooner than later.

There are people who are just plain evil - they are content to speak lies; they find ways to excuse immoral action. They refuse to SERIOUSLY acknowledge wrong behavior. They refuse to take life SERIOUSLY. People, who you may have never guessed, are more evil than you might realize; for example, some who deny the occasional necessity of war - even though Jesus himself did not tell soldiers to quit their jobs, rather telling them to "...be content with your wages" (Luke 3:14). -People have not understood, nor properly confronted, their loneliness.

-Intent? What do people intend these days? Rather than merely give money to charities, I suggest people should work on some kind of specific and useful project, some kind of special creation and invention. Something that will put smiles on people's faces, something that will give to people new understanding. Merely throwing money to aid organizations is a way people avoid their own individuality. If cancer is to be cured, it will take an individual achievement to cure it. Also, if a human powered helicopter is to be fully successful, it will take an individual achievement. The same is true in other projects that have yet to be more successfully accomplished - books, human morality, art, etc.

June 17, 2005

-Intelligence is attractive because one who is intelligent is one who fears God, and this deserves respect.

-When seeking God, the point is to do honestly everything that you can possibly think of. God does work in mysterious ways. The thing that you might think is the least of your concerns could be something that is actually your greatest concern. The thing that you might think lightly of (perhaps even belittle) is the thing that you need to pay more respect to. Let me give you a personal example: I happen to be twenty-seven years old, but last night I finally purchased, for the first time, some alcohol for myself - my first, self-purchased, six pack of beer. I drank a couple and became wiser. It is not that I have never had alcohol before - I have just never bothered to directly pay for my own. This is partly due to my upbringing and partly because I have always known the potential danger of alcohol. Also, it can be expensive. I have only accepted it from others if they offered it to me - out of politeness. I have never been an enthusiastic supporter of alcohol consumption (I am still not enthusiastic about it - nor do I ever plan to be). However, what some Christians (myself included) have failed to examine more carefully is that drinking alcohol is, in a way, actually quite scriptural - it is, on some level, according to St. Paul, even permissible in church leadership: "...not given to much wine..." leaves the impression that deacons are allowed to be "given" to some alcohol (1Timothy 3:8). Being a church leader is good work, and good work can sometimes be exhausting, so I think that the occasional consumption of alcohol for some people (especially leaders and artists) can be healthy. For me, I believe buying alcohol last night proved to God my humility. Buying alcohol was a last resort. I drank to confront certain issues in my life; issues that I have seem to run out of other ways to address (I did not drink to avoid them). Consequently, this morning, I have experienced God's peace - quite distinctly.

-My experience is also confirmed in other scripture. Here is a biblical example: when Jesus told his disciples to cast their nets on the other side (even though the disciples were experienced fishermen and had been fishing all night and had caught nothing - so what Jesus said probably sounded stupid, maybe even insulting, to the disciples) and then when the disciples did what Jesus said they caught a whole bunch of fish.

-In another experience I had some trouble with my van. Whenever it rained, sometimes it would not start at all. I paid a fee for a mechanic to come and look at it and he could not figure out the problem. We just figured that there was a chance that moisture was getting into the motor. So I bought a new distributor cap and lead wires. This did not solve the problem. Still whenever it rained, I had trouble. One time, because of the rain, I had to leave my van parked at my boss' house. Sometimes if the motor started, it would begin to sputter while I was driving. Another time it stalled along a highway. I had to pay to get it towed to my parents. For a while I figured I could no longer afford to try to get the problem fixed, so I rode my bike everywhere, rain or shine, for weeks. Then a friend of mine called and happened to ask about my van and I explained to him the problem over phone. He asked me if I had new spark plugs. Of course I had new spark plugs. He asked if I checked the gap on them. I had not, but I thought that this idea of gapping my new plugs was so minor that I was somewhat annoyed at his suggestion. However, I decided to follow my friend's advice and I adjusted all the spark plugs' gaps (they needed to be made a bit smaller). After I did this, my van started up easily. Ever since, the problem has never returned. I am still driving this same van today. The motor continues to work just fine.

June 14, 2005

May 21, 2005

-Focus with strategy.
