In loving memory of

Ryan Yeo Eng Key

October 12, 1984 - November 13, 2002

For 18 wonderful years, Ryan has been LIGHTING THE WAY for many who knew him.  Forever missed by mom, dad, brothers, loved ones, teachers, friends and everyone who knows him.

Ryan was a unique boy.  When at 4 years old he gave his only sandwich to a kindergarten mate just because the girl, whose mother was hospitalised, could not eat the food her granny packed. His act of compassion continued throughout his life.  Since his passing, his friends  has been calling in and telling me how he had touched one or the other, giving them moral support not just physically, but helping them with their emotional problems.  He inspired to be a doctor and throughout his school life, he had always been on hand to give First Aid to the injured.   He was especially good with children.  I have seen a child who never knew him walked up to him and just laid on his lap.  His teachers told me that whenever there was an outing, they could bring their children along and be sure that Ryan would keep them entertained.  He would make gifts out of items he collected for the children.

(Ryan as remembered by mom, Chiew Eng)

The above description is enough to bring any mothers to tears.  What more, a grieving mother.  I, Lilian,  have made this page specially for Ryan with the comfort of knowing that such a wonderful young man is in Heaven along with My Little Hero, Vincent and all my other friends' babies and children who have gone to Heaven before us.  I have not met Ryan nor even seen his photo.  I only knew his mother through the internet for two months.  Yet, Ryan's character has made such a big impact on me and inspire me to be a better mom to my four other children.  Thanks. Chiew Eng for sharing Ryan with all mothers.

I watch clouds all the time - esp. when I'm stuck at a traffic light or jam when driving Ryan to and fro school. Those times were my special time for Ryan - I set time to be alone with each son everyday. I see pix in them clouds and talked to Ryan about them when we were thru' with his routine updates of events in school.  Ryan's a star-person.  He used to look out for constellations of stars and if he saw Orion's Belt (his favourite constellation) he'd drag me out of the house to see.

Now, I look out for rainbows........

(More memories of Ryan - from mom).

Ryan has his own website at http://www.geocities.com/rai_3n.  Click here to get to know more about this wonderful young man.

This page is made on Mother's Day May 11th, 2003 with love from one mother to another.  I know Chiew Eng will forever miss the breakfast in bed which Ryan made for her every Mother's Day.   It is also a gift for Chiew Eng and family for Ryan's half year anniversary.  If you have any messages for Ryan's mom, please click on the below email.
