Episode 1

The story started with the funeral of Angela Estrada, Estrada family’s mum. She was buried besides her husband's grave, Jacinto Estrada, who died some years before. They had four yound children, Augusto and his three little sisters, Silvia, Lisa and Beba (still a baby). Vicente, a close friend of the Estradas, and his family decided to separate them. Beba and Lisa were to be raised by an Italian family for their future benefits, while Augusto and Silvia were to stay. Augusto who was only 15 year old that moment, cried in tears and said, "No! No one can separate us, I’m old enough to take care the family now. I’m going to take care of my sisters by myself, and I will work starting tomorrow!"

10 years later, Augusto was a young man working as supplier of construction material. He lived with his wife, Margarita and his two sisters Lisa and Beba in nice house. Augusto was the father figure of the family and the three sisters respected him a lot. Silvia was dubbed the "general" of the house, as she took care all the routine housework while Augusto went to earn $$$ for the family. Silvia moved out from the house as she married Carlos, an artist, and they had a pair of twins, Aurora and Alicia. Lisa was the Miss Perfect. She studied medicine and worked as a nurse in a hospital. She was still single, due to fear of attaching herself to another relationship since the last failure. Beba was the cute teenage girl, still a baby to her family, and everyone loved her so much. Everyone wanted to make sure that she got all the best of love from everyone in the Estrada family.

It was Lisa's prize giving ceremony at her college. She received her medal and certificate. Augusto, Beba and Vincente were there, but Silvia was absent though she promised Lisa that she would come. Lisa wondered why hadn't Silvia came,"She must have something going on." Lisa told Augusto that she had to leave the ceremony to go to work, but Augusto insisted that they should wait till the end. Lisa read the event schedule to Augusto and said there were a lot of things that were going to take place, so she really had to leave now. Augusto agreed and the four of them went out. Augusto asked whether Lisa and Beba needed a ride, but the girls assured him that they could find their own way to the subway station. Augusto and Vincente left for work, while Lisa and Beba proceed to the station. Beba said to Lisa,"Augusto still treats us like little kids, doesn't he?" Then they laughed.

At Silvia and Carlos's home, the pair were packing their things to move our. Silvia was so mad that she had to miss Lisa's graduation. Then they got onto a bus, Silvia cried along the way. As they arrived, Carlos hailed a cab. Silvia was angry,"How are we going to pay for the cab?" Carlos replied,"I don't want to walk all the way to your brother's house."

At Solis Enterprise, Ernesto Solis was celebrating the success of getting the contract to build a major shopping mall besides the community hospital. Along with him was his partner, Santiago Ortega. Ernesto's daughter cum Santiago's fiancee, Barbara also joined the celebration. Champagne was poured, toast was made, and Barbara romantically whispered to Santiago,"When are we going to have the same celebration while wearing all white?" Santiago hesitated, then he replied,"But sweetheart, we just got engaged." Later Santiago said that he wanted to go to the construction site, he asked Barbara if she wanted to come along, but Barbara snobbishly said that she didn't want to be covered with dust. Outside Ernesto's office, Margarita was waiting to meet Ernesto and promote the construction material she was selling on behalf of Augusto's company. She was also eager to meet Santiago. However, when Barbara came, Margarita's mood changed. She told Elsa, the secretary, who was also her friend, that she wanted to leave, however she said that she would make sure nothing could stop her from getting Santiago.

In the municipal hospital, there was a problem with the electricity again. A first time mother was about to give birth, but the electricity problem made it difficult for the doctors and nurses to do their job. Eventually the woman delivered, but Lisa was still very angry about the electricity problem, and she complained to the hospital director. But, the director said that he couldn’t do anything, because sooner or later the hospital was going to be demolished by the government. Lisa was made even angrier. She believed that the hospital was going to be demolished just to benefit the constructor - Solis Enterprise. She also believed that the problems faced by the hospital were just tricks to chase them out of the hospital. Lisa was so mad that she decided to go to the construction area to complain and warn them if they proceed with the construction, she would do something soon to save the hospital.

She left her work at the hospital to go to the construction site without bothering whether the hospital was going to fire her because of her irresponsibility. Magaly, the head nurse, and Lisa's friend Ruby tried to reason her out of it but Lisa wouldn't listen. She walked into the construction area, she was so clumsy that she stepped on the wet cement as she walked around to find the person who was responsible for the construction, which is our handsome engineer, Santiago. Yet Lisa saw another engineer on duty and confronted him. He was Ramirez, the engineer who was monitoring the construction work, also Santiago's friend. She asked to see the person in charge of the construction. Ramirez told her that he was the monitoring engineer, but Santiago was the person in charge. Lisa was so mad that she wouldn't listen and endlessly blamed Ramirez for the damages at the hospital. Meanwhile Santiago arrived at the site. He was shocked and angry to see the footsteps that Lisa left on the wet cement. Looking around for the culprit, he saw Lisa wearing white sneakers covered with wet cement scolding Ramirez. Ramirez tried to chase her away from the construction, but Lisa insisted that she wanted to see the guy who is responsible for the construction. Then Santiago went to her and said,"I’m the engineer in charge, I’m the person who is responsible for this, so what's the problem?" Hearing so, Lisa started giving him cynical remarks and scolded him for being selfish and blamed him for planning to demolish the hospital for his own benefit. Santiago claimed that he didn’t know anything about the electricity problem that happened in the hospital. Lisa told him everything. Santiago, already angry hearing all the non-sense, was made even angrier when he saw Lisa’s sneakers cover with wet cement! He warned her that she was not allowed to enter the area without a safety helmet, he angrily put one on the her head and said that he didn't want to be responsible if anything happened to her. He also said that and she was going to be responsible for the damages (cement) that she did in the construction area. Santiago said that if she had problems, she could come to his office to discuss them. However, Lisa chose to leave. She saw another newly cemented floor, and asked Santiago if the cement was fresh. Santiago said yes, and the moment he did, Lisa purposely walked on the wet cement on her way back! Santiago shouted angrily, telling her that she was to bear all the repair costs. She didn’t bother, she kept walking! Santiago was so angry, he told the worker to calculate the total of the damages to be billed to Lisa/hospital later.

While Lisa was at the construction site, another nurse who was the hospital director's mistress inquired about her. Magali, the head nurse, told her that Lisa wasn't there. The nurse asked,"So she left work while still in her shift?" Magali had to agree. The nurse left for the hospital director's office and broke the news. Lisa arrived at the hospital and went to the nurses's room to clean the wet cement off her sneakers. Ruby came to ask her what happened. Shortly, the nurse cum director's mistress entered to tell Lisa that the director wanted to see her. Lisa sighed,"How am I going to see the Dr. Serpa with these wet shoes?" Lisa went to Dr. Serpa's office, and was given her deserved penalty; she was suspended from work for three days.

As the Estradas house, Augusto arrived from work. Margarita was relaxing in her bed draped in a towel. Augusto started kissing Margarita, eventually pulled away and excused herself to go to the toilet. She put on the necessary protection to keep herself from getting pregnant, and went back into Augusto's waiting arms. After they made love, Augusto said,"This has to be the day. Would you like a boy or a girl?" Margarita was surprised to hear that, yet she replied,"Anyone is fine with me." When Augusto left the room, Margarita whispered,"Not a boy, nor a girl."

Augusto prepared spaghetti with special sauce from his mum's recipe. He and Margarita sat down and ate, then Lisa arrived. Augusto was surprised that Lisa came home early. Lisa told him that she wanted to go to her room, and assured him that nothing happened. Augusto asked Lisa to give her medal to him so that he could show it to Margarita. Lisa handed the medal over, Augusto took it and put it around his neck. He showed it to Margarita and told her about Lisa's achievement.

At night, Santiago went to the local club for a swim. He saw a woman by the poolside, getting ready to swim. He walked towards her, it was Lisa. She stood on the starting platform, ready to splash. Santiago got onto the platform besides her. She turned her head. "Usted??"
