From The Webmaster's Desk

I don't know about you guys.. but Latin telenovelas were made known to me since Astro Ria aired Luz Clarita. My mum was one of the biggest fan. She would rush home every lunch break to make sure that she would be in front of the TV by 1.30 pm. If by any chance she missed any episode of the series, she'd ask me to watch it for her. I did with no passion, as the whole series had been dubbed to Malay language and that kind of ruin the magic of the story (well of course Astro has that I-II button where u can choose your language preference but I was left dumbfounded coz my only option besides Malay was Spanish which I didn't understand a word!). I left home for college without knowing the ending but I think it must have cost my mum pails of tears :)

Then NTV 7 aired Maria Mercedes. Once again my mum got glued to the series.. and once again I wasn't interested due the dubbing job (moreover when I knew the hero's voice was actually Ahmad Idham's! yikess!!).

After that La Usurpadora came into the scene. It gathered a huge group of fans among my friends, and my mum of course. You might think, ah.. now I have no reason not to watch. The series were subtitled not dubbed.. there were a bunch of macho guys and lovely ladies on screen.. what else did I want? Indeed, there was something I wanted, or didn't want. The roles in LU were much too perfect! Everyone looked like shots from Elle (minus Grandma Piedad :P), while Paulina was too beautiful everybody seemed to fall for her.. plus her kindness was beyond limits (where on earth could u find such being?). I think the series were close to illogic.. furthermore I'm not the kind who likes to watch the livings of the rich (enough of growing up with Dallas and The Bold and The Beautiful).

When Mis Tres Hermanas began its series, I finally got what I wanted. Watching ordinary people in t-shirts and jeans makes me feel much at home. There are some unfitting scenes of course (like how Dr Contreras' high school microscope was able to see DNA structures?) but I still enjoy watching them. Anyway the series haven't yet ended in Malaysia, so lets just sit back, relax and enjoy the show!
