Welcome to my web page on buses and coaches of Malaysia. 
In Singapore, buses and coaches uses the prefix of registration numbers to denote the different 
catagories of buses. 
Example : 
CB = school buses
PZ = tour coaches
PA, PH, PC = private hire buses
PB = private buses
SBS, TIB, CSS, SMB = public buses

Unlike Singapore, buses and coaches in Malaysia do not use the registration numbers to differentiate between the various catogories. Buses and coaches in Malaysia can be generally catagorised into the following types :

Category	Type	Livery
Bas Sekolah	school bus	yellow
Bas Persiaran	tour bus	green skirt + other liveries
Bas Kilang / Bas Pekerja	bus used for transportation of factory workers	blue
Bas Expres	inter town / city express bus	-
Others	public buses / government buses	-

Public buses and express buses do not carry special livery unlike other categories of buses. There are 11 states in Peninsula Malaysia and one area called Federal Territory (Wilayah Persekutuan). Federal Territory consist of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and the island of Labuan located in East Malaysia. The registration numbers of Malaysian vehicles come in the form of three alphabets followed by four numbers. The first alphabet denotes the state :
