Metropolitan Mor Severius Saliba Tuma of the Archdiocese of Zahle in Lebanon passed away at 7.00 pm on 27th.

Biography of the late Metropolitan
Mor Severius Saliba Tuma was born in the city of Kamishli in Syria on 21st Nov 1969. His theological education was at the Patriarchal Seminary in Damascus. In 1989 he become a monk and in 1992 was ordained Priest. From 1994-‘98 he was at the Oriental institute in Rome, studying for his Doctorate. He later returned to Damascus and became Vicar there.
On 14th May 2000 he was ordained Metropolitan for the Archdiocese of Zahle in Lebanon by H.H. the Patriarch Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas at the Sts. Peter & Paul Cathedral in Marth Saydnaya, Damascus, Syria,. This diocese was earlier part of the Beirut diocese.
For the past few days he was in comma. He suffered from a fatal brain tumor. The funeral will be at 5 pm on 29th July at the St. George Church, Zahle, Lebanon.
