H.H. Patriarch's visit to
Bahrain (11th to 16th

On 11th December His Holiness the Patriarch
of Antioch and all the East Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I reached Bahrain to attend
the silver jubilee celebrations of the Bahrain Jacobite Syrian Church. HH was
received at the Airport by Bahrain's Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sh.
Abdulla Bin Khalid Al-Khalifa and Undersecretary at the Ministry of Islamic
Affairs H.E. Sh. Khalifa Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and the church Managing Committee
members.
A public meeting was held in connection with the Patriarch's visit & the jubilee function, in which a commemorative Souvenir and Gold coin were released. On 13th December H.H. hosted a banquet for invited dignitaries and the church members at Ritz Carlton Hotel.
During the five day visit, H.H. celebrated Holy
Qurbono on two occasions. On 14th December His Holiness visited Hope Institute for Disabled Children to donate one
computer, printer and scanner, on behalf of Bahrain Church's silver jubilee
charity projects.
On 15th His Holiness met the King His Majesty Sh. Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa
and in the evening delivered a speech at Bait Al-Quran (An archive of Quraan).
Specially invited dignitaries were present on the occasion. The event was organised by the Bait Al-Quran
authorities under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister.
All the programs held in connection with the Patriarch's visit were very well
organised and were successfully completed due to the prayers and presence of
entire parish members and the SAMAJAM delegation & members.
During the visit of His Holiness, V. Rev. Abraham Karimbanathara Cor-Episcopa, the
Asst. Vicar of St. Mary's Church, Manarcad, was also present.
