The sanctification ceremony of the renovated St.George Jacobite Syrian Church, Nallila, Kollam, was held on 15, 16 & 17 of February 2004. The chief celebrant on the occasion was Mor Theophilus George Saliba, the Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Mount Lebanon.

The two day long ceremony was attended by many Bishops and clergy of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Church. H.B. the Catholicose Aboon Mor Baselius Thomas I was present during the beginning of the ceremony on 15th Sunday evening which started after a grand procession. Other Bishops who were present were Mor Militius Yohanon (Bishop of Kollam and Thumpamon), Mor Koorilose Markose (Bishop of Niranam and Thiruvananthapuram), Mor Osthathius Benjamin Joseph (Bishop of Simhasana Churches) and Mor Athanasius Geevarghese (Bishop of Thrissur). Many priests from various dioceses also attended the ceremony. The sanctification ceremony ended with the Holy Tri-Mass conducted by Bishops with Mor Theophilus as chief celebrant. HG spoke after the 'Qudasho' and blessed the gathering. The public meeting was followed by the sumptuous lunch after the sanctification ceremony.
