Sucess Stories!!!
Adopted! April 2009
Wolf (Now Woodie)
Woodie lives with his sister Sarah (formerly Snake) and the queen of the household Cheyenne.  All of them were adopted through AMRA and are enjoying life.  You can see all three in the photo.

We couldn't ask for a better home for them and we are really happy that the siblings will grow up together.
Adopted! April 2009
Flop (Now Mufassa or Fassi for short)
Flop is a shy guy, but he's moved into his new household quickly!  He figured out the dog door on the first day. According to his new mom...he LOVES running around and chasing water when the sprinklers are on.  He lives with two other dog and a young boy and is really enjoying life!  He hasn't chewed anything he wasn't supposed to chew...unusual for a young mal. We are thrilled!
Adopted! February 2009
Bear
Bear is now in his new home.  He's learning new boundaries and should adjust just fine.  He has a mom and dad that are home with him quite a bit and several teenagers to play with and exhause him!   This is their third malamute - their second from us!  They adopted Kaibab...one of our first placements in 2001.
Adopted! February 2009
Snake (now Sarah)
Snake is seen here playing with her new, 14 year old sister Cheyanne.  Now Sarah - she is adapting well to the all the dogs and her new family.  She is a sweet thing and should enjoy a cushy life with these folks...Cheyanne was an adoption facilitated through our referral program several years ago!
Adopted! February 2009
Angel
Angel now lives with his brother Chico and new, older sister Atheana.  Angel is having a blast chasing after Chico and his sock.  The "orchard" in their backyard looks like a war zone according to Angel's new owner...apparently Angel really loves to dig!

They are having big fun getting to know each other and we are absolutely thrilled with the placement.
Adopted! January 2009
Dozer
Dozer found a new home!  He is living with a lovely couple that has malamute experience and a very large parrot!  Apparently Dozer has made new friends in the neighborhood already and is adjusting well!
Adopted! December 2008
Sugar
Sugar was found trapped in a canal in Surprise, Arizona.  A group of people rescued her and turned her over to a good samaritin who offered to give her shelter while we found her a home.

This older gal (7-9 years) got a new home for the Holidays! They fell in love with her and she will live out her days being pampered by her new family.  Rumor has it she slept on the bed last night.   Merry Christmas Sugar!
Adopted! December 2008
Mya (Now Tristy)
Mya was picked up by a good samaritin and given food and shelter.  She was terrified of everything, but you could tell she loved people and attention.  She would sit for hours and let you pet her.

Her new mom and dad are just the folks to help Mya (Now Tristy) come out of her shell.  They have malamute experience (lots!) and are helping her adjust to the world around her.  She is a very sweet girl and she's found the perfect home!
Adopted! August 2008
Della
Della now lives with a family of 5.  She's learning to adapt to the youngest...a little girl who adores her.  She walks her and feeds her and they'll be best buds in no time!

Della is in love with her new daddy and follows him everywhere.  She definately bonded with him first.

We are thirlled that Della has a family that loves her and she's a part of the household now.l
Adopted! July 2008
Tango
Tango now lives with a family of two other dogs, two kids and mom/dad.  He adjusted quickly with the help of his new sister...a crazy little german shepherd.  He is showing his new family how much love and affection he can give by showering them kisses and talking to them whenever he gets a chance.

We are thrilled to hear the stories of how well Tango is doing!  He loves to jump on the bed for snuggle time in the morning and is enrolled in obedience classes.
Adopted! March 2008
Wahooga
Wahooga was adopted by a lovely couple with LOTS of  dog experience.  Of course, that experience is with German Shepherds, so I think Wahooga will have a lot to teach them.

They were just thrilled to get him and we couldn't be happier wtih the home!  I'll post updates as we get them.
Adopted! March 2008
Longfellow (Now Toby)
Toby has a new brother, Charger, who is still trying to figure what to do with this big, new dog!  He is adapting well to his new environment and his new family loves him!  Apparently...he hasn't chewed up any shoes yet!

Toby is loving life and getting spoiled rotten. His new family adores him. They have discovered a fenced in field where they can go with Toby and let him run and play. He's having a great time.  This big, sweet guy deserves all the attention he can get!
Adopted! February 2008
Molly
Molly now lives in a house with two cats and Sogi, her sweet brother.  Her new mom and dad are pretty cool too!  Apparently, Molly was so good with the cats that they moved back into their regular spots around the house within days of her arrival!  She and Sogi romp and play and enjoy every moment.  Molly doesn't want to miss anything, so she's up very early ready to go!  Her new dad says, "All in all, ranks right up there with the best of dogs!"
Adopted! February 2008
Jetsy (Now Canyon)
Canyon enjoys lounging around the pool with her hybrid big brother, Echo.  He lets her think she can steal all the bones and as long as she doesn't figure out he's really letting her...they should continue to do okay.  Jetsy is learning to live with a houseful of kids and seems to be doing well.
Adopted! February 2008
Flotsy (Now Tasha)
Tasha is learning to live in a house, walk on a leash and tolerate her African Gray housemate.  The bird knows her name...she's still learning it!  Tasha enjoys daily walks with her new owner.

We couldn't be happier that Tasha is enjoying her new digs. She deserves it!
Adopted! August 2007
Ringo
was adopted by a single guy with LOTS of experience with malamutes. Ringo's stubborn streak is no match for Larry's!   He's already enrolled in training  and is learning all about boundaries.

Ringo has learned to enjoy the house, peanut butter and is slowly discovering carrots.  He's a happy dog and enjoying life.
Adopted! July 2007
Kal-El (now Alpine)
was adopted by an active, single guy who seems excited to have him.  He asked ALL the right questions, some of them we hadn't even thought of!

Alpine had his first roller-blade session last night and is learning to hang out and enjoy life.  He can look forward to lots of hiking and other fun activities!
Adopted! March 2007
Luka and Lexi
were both adopted in March of 2007 to 2 different households.  Both are thriving and we are thrilled to hear it.  Lexi had a rough time in the beginning as she had some parasites, but we got her through it!  Luka was always a big brute and did well from day one.
Adopted! July 2006
Goonie
was adopted by a lovely family of three...plus a cutie pie pooch!  She absolutely adores their swimming pool and is keeping everyone very entertained...living up to her name from the sounds of things!

Goonie will be starting obedience classes soon and continues to win over her new family!
Adopted! April 2006
Gigi
was adopted by a very sweet woman who had the patience to work with her.  She's been renamed Nikki and is reported to be doing very well!  She likes to take things her new owner has recently set aside and snuggle with them.  Nikki has graciously allowed her housemate to take on the top dog position, which he loves because he's never held it before!

Nikki has also turned out to be quite the water dog!  She thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the San Diego dog beach with her new brother and is obviously enjoying the backyard pool pictured here.
Adopted! September 2005
Bo
was adopted by a lovely couple who were looking for an older buddy for their senior gal.  He now resides in San Diego with his girlfriend, two cats...and mom and dad!  At last check it sounds like Bo is adjusting well to his new digs.
Adopted! August, 2005
Malo
was adopted by a gentleman and his teenage son.  He just completed a basic obedience course and is adjusting very well in his new home.  Since he can't decide who he likes to sleep with most...he hops around at night or sleeps in the middle of the hallway.  He gets lots of love and attention his new home.
Adopted! September, 2004
Sattui
was adopted by a gentleman with lots of experience with Sattui's type..bossy!   His last Malamute was just like Sattui with her need to be the only dog and the center of attention.  We think Sattui has a great home now and will be well loved and cared for...she's a happy girl.

When last spotted Sattui was chasing a 7 yr old down the hallway with a very happy grin on her face.
Adopted! October, 2003
Storm & Blaze
were adopted by a wonderful couple that had recently lost their pair of Malamutes due to old age.  They were thrilled to bring these two wonderful dogs into their home.  Storm and Blaze are thoroughly enjoying their new digs and we are very pleased with the success of this adoption.  It's not always easy to find someone willing to take on two new dogs, but I think their adopters are two of the sweetest people I've met in a long time.  The dogs are their babies and they are completely devoted to them!
Adopted! February, 2003
Keeska
was adopted not long ago by a wonderful couple that were looking forward to running, swimming and playing with her. Keeska had to get along with her new "sister" Mandy, a Golden Retriever with some special needs. Surprisingly, Keeska did very well with Mandy and she moved into her new home.

We are pleased to hear that Keeska is adjusting beautifully in her new environment and inspite of her faults (stealing anything that is not nailed down), her new family is thrilled to have her in their lives.
Adopted! June, 2002
Hi Folks!  My
name is Show Low and I've recently been adopted!  I share my new home with another dog and two small critters my Mom calls cats.  The cats look appetizing, but my Mom seems to like them, so I'll just have to settle for a knuckle bone.  I do enjoy the swimming pool and long walks and car rides.  When we go to bed at night, I scoot on my back till my head reaches Mom's shoulder and then I wrap my arm around her waist.  Of course, my bottom half is belly up - airing out you know!

I wake my Mom up at 5:00 a.m. so we can go out before it gets too hot.  Sometimes I let her sleep till 5:30, then breathe heavily in her face - but always with a smile on MY face.

We're in training right now and hope to take further training so I can become a therapy dog!  I do love kids, you know.  Think maybe I'll stay here.  The food is good and so are the rump scrubs and belly rubs.  My Mom calls me her love bug but sometimes a brat.  What can I say?  I'm a Mal!
Adopted!  June, 2002
Not Too has been a big change in our previously dog-less family.  She is intelligent and very quick to learn as long as treats are involved.  At other times, she can be stubborn and moves when she is ready.  She loves to lean on our legs while we watch TV or work on the computer.  She has trained us very well to take her for a walk every day at exactly 7:15 p.m.

She loves belly rubs and squeaky toys (we now have stock in Petco, she eats them pretty fast!) Our only other pet, an Amazon Parrot, and Not Too have an uneasy truce.  The bird has agreed not to redesign Not Too's nose if she will not stick it in the cage.  Not Too always greets us when we get home from work, and is a joy to have in the house.  We are so glad we adopted her.  She's become a welcomed member of our family.
Update: Not Too is still teaching her new owners about life with a Malamute...and they are giving her all the love and patience this sweet girl needs. She didn't have the greatest past apparently, but her future looks bright and sunny...especially on the lake!
Adopted!  June, 2002
Logan
was adopted recently by a very excited, young, active couple.  We just know that Logan is going to absolutely love his new home!  We hope to get an updated photo and details about Logan from them and will post those details when they become available.

Update: Logan is doing very well and is one handsome, spoiled boy. His new owners adore him and we are thrilled to hear it. He was one special pup.
