Breaking News!
Malachi is celbrating 10 years as a gospel bluegrass band.  Thanks to all who have made our ministry such a blessing.  We are currently in the studio working on our new release due out the summer of 2004.
Malachi is a gospel bluegrass group formed in 1994 as an outreach and praise ministry through Cook Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.  Inspired by other bluegrass and gospel groups, Malachi has now developed a style that is distinctly its own.  Malachi's music ranges from old-time traditional gospel music to a gospel variation of blues, bluegrass and country punctuated with their trademark a-cappella songs and fills.  Several original Malachi numbers and arrangements are now included in a typical program.

Malachi has been delivering the Lord's message in song in North Louisiana, Southern Arkansas, and East Texas.

In 1999, Malachi released their first album
Preparing the Way that contains many of their favorite songs.  A new project is in the works for the upcoming year.

Group Members are:
Steve Blackwelder - Lead Guitar/Harmony Vocals
Charlie Scriber - Mandolin/Lead Vocals
Jimmy Hammond - Rhythm Guitar/Lead Vocals
Steve Basco - Banjo/Bass Vocals
Mike Watson - Dobro/Bass Vocals
Wes Lynch - Bass Guitar

We are so thankful to God for allowing us to take His Word to the world.  It is exciting to see His spirit work among the members of the group and to feel His presence every time we sing.  Our mission is quite simple and that is to proclaim the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.   The most effective way for us to do that is through the language of music.
