| de la Vega house With tearful eyes, Carlota pleaded with Mauricio to take a rest if he needed it, as he looked sick. They can always discuss it the next day. Mauricio told her not to try & confused the real fact. To him, their lovely house has given no meaning anymore. His feeling towards their relationship is not as it used to … as it’s now down the drain. Mauricio has made his decision … he will be honest & truthful to Carlota. It’s been so long since he kept all his feelings to himself. He can not bear to continue their relationship, as it would not be fair to them. Rogelio’s apartment Rogelio sat on a chair while Desiree on the bed. Rogelio was talking about his wife – Amparo. Desiree suggested him to be nice to her so that she will not be humiliated in front of Carlota’s friend at Rafael’s party. She was afraid of her, as she is capable of doing something bad to her. Amparito will not loose this chance & she knows it. de la Vega house Carlota followed him to the study room. She told him that, they have adopted Rafael & thought that everything is working out smoothly. They can be a family that he had always dream of. Mauricio informed her that, he does not want to live with her & pretending nothing happened. Carlota could not understand her husband. Tania, the maid … took Mauricio’s jacket & tie from the floor. Rafael got down from the stairs & asked Tania where Mauricio is … the maid warned him not to go in the study room & disturb him as he is with Carlota discussing something. de la Vega house – study room Carlota said to him … ‘Mauricio, por favor’ … I don’t think your feelings can changed so fast. Mauricio told her that, their dreams had gone to separate ways & they have not done anything to try to work something out. Carlota begged him to consider his thoughts & feelings. Rafael feel like going into the study room but changed his mind as he thought about what Tania had warned him. He finally settled down on a floor near to the stairs waiting for either one of them out of the room. de la Vega house – study room Carlota mentioned to her husband that … she had sacrificed so much for him, even tough she does not want a baby … she went to extra mile to fulfil Mauricio’s dream in the end. She would do anything, as she loved Mauricio so much. Only Mauricio had a sudden changed of heart towards her. Carlota hoped that, in his mind, he is not thinking of a divorce. She looked at him while holding back her tears. Enriqueta’s apartment Manuel sat on a sofa & waited for Enriqueta. She came out from her room wearing a bathrobe while holding a lotion in her hand. Manuel had hoped that she had already dressed. Enriqueta told him that, she wishes him to rub lotion to her body. He explained to her that, lotion is not in his agenda. She told him … Manuel had better finished what he had started … she held the lotion towards him. Manuel took it & started to squirt the lotion onto his palm while Enriqueta watched him in delight. de la Vega house Carlota wanted to acknowledge whether he had discussed with a lawyer & prepared the divorce letter. Mauricio told her that, he just want to discussed about his feeling & what he is going through. He does not even think of a divorce at this time … as she was the one who said it. Carlota was so, so relieved to hear that. Mauricio further told her that, his dishonesty is what makes their relationship fell apart. Perez house Juana had just finished eating pasta that her mother had made earlier. A.Maria continued advising her about her experienced in relationship. A.Maria does not want Juana to follow her footstep. She had done many wrong things & does not wish to see Juana get hurt. She told her that, if Mauricio did not make any sign of hope … then she can not believed whatever his promises to her. Juana commented that, Mauricio is so different than any other guy that she had met before. He’s not the type that likes to fool around just to proved his manhood. A.Maria don’t know what to say anymore to her daughter, she just hugged & kissed her from behind … A.Maria left her daughter to be alone. de la Vega house – study room Carlota was not satisfied with Mauricio because of her sacrifices that she had done all this while. It was all because she loved him so much but Mauricio seems to push her away just like that. Carlota told him cynically that … he is exactly following her father’s footstep … pushing the wife away when she’s not wanted anymore. She stomped her way out of the room. Carlota saw Rafael playing with the ball & scolded him for not listening to what she has told him. If she ever sees the ball again in the house, she will throw it away once & for all. Rafael was in a daze. Mauricio saw what Carlota had done to Rafael & tried to follow her but stopped halfway. Carlota went up the stairs … feeling helpless & dejected. Enriqueta’s apartment Enriqueta was lying on her back talking to her father on the phone, while Manuel massaged her feet. After she hung up, Manuel got up & said that, he had finished his duty & would want to go back as it’s late. Enriqueta sensed that he is running away, so she gave him suggestion to stay over if he wants to. Manuel was tempted to accept her offer but controlled himself. He told her that he’ll be leaving, kissed her quickly & left her apartment. Enriqueta was sad to see Manuel leave. There goes her chance to be intimate with Manuel. She showed a long, sour face. de la Vega house Rafael sat on Mauricio’s lap while holding a ball. He wanted to know whether Carlota is mad at him for inviting all his friends over to his party. Mauricio told him that he shouldn’t worry & that he has the right to invite anybody he wishes, after all … it’s his party. Rogelio’s apartment Desiree & Rogelio came out from their bedroom. Desiree straightened his tie & said goodbye to him. She reminded Rogelio not to forget about her request. Rogelio informed Desiree that, he wants her to be his for tonight & forever. Desiree played along with his plea. de la Vega house Mauricio got himself a drink & sat on a sofa … contemplating of what he has done to him & to Carlota. He told to himself that, he should have told Carlota about his true feelings a long time ago. Perez house Juana sat alone in the kitchen … thinking what her mother had said earlier on. She knows that Mauricio is a good man & would not end up like Alfonso. Her mother’s past life is quite close to hers but she is quite certain that Mauricio has a good heart & would not hurt her. She reminisces the moment she & Mauricio kissed each other at the park. She was so intoxicated by Mauricio. Enriqueta’s apartment Enriqueta was sitting on a sofa & feeling very devastated about Manuel’s sudden exit. She thinks that Manuel is not being fair to her. Nevertheless, she wondered & smiled to herself - to what she & Manuel had done together. Perez house Manuel reached home & was greeted by Juana. Manuel came in, feeling like he’s on top of the world. Juana could not wait to hear what he had done earlier on. He didn’t cooperate but was being coaxed by Juana to tell what had happened. He told her everything & that he is falling in love with Enriqueta. He likes being with Enriqueta, her smile, her eyes & her good virtues. To him, Enriqueta is a unique woman unlike many others. He wants to have a long relationship with her … forever & ever. With that, Juana was touched to see Manuel being so happy. They both embraced into each other’s arm. de la Vega house The next morning, Carlota came down from the stairs & was told by Tania that the interior decorator has arrived to decorate the house. She awaits her order but was scolded for not being able to do her job independently. After that, Jose told her that Mauricio will be back soon & would want to see Carlota afterward. Carlota looked scared. Perez house Juana was in the kitchen with Azucena & Manuel. Juana wanted to tell them about the party but was not sure whether it’s the right time or not. He sees Manuel day dreaming at one corner & her grandmother, cooking her stuff. Juana gave her grandmother her salary cheque, for her to buy anything for their household needs. Her grandmother saw the cheque & quite pleased to see her grand daughter’s salary. Azucena saw Juana taking pills & told her that, she should use the money. Juana informed Azucena & Manuel that they don’t have to worry as she has taken care of it & she had gone for a check up with Mauricio. Azucena & Manuel looked at each other & not say a word. Amparito’s house Humber, Alfredo & Amparito were having breakfast outside their garden. Humberto informs them about the Rafael’s party. As a family, Amparito told her sons that, they should go & give moral support to Carlota even though she does not like the very idea of being a grandmother & having a grown grandson so soon. While they were eating, along came Rogelio looking a pathetic person …smiling from ear to ear. Amparito somehow not surprised by his appearance. Perez house Azucena told Juana that she has made the decision to come with her at the party. Juana was glad to hear it. Juana told her about her opinions & left the house in a hurry. After she left, Azucena approached Manuel to tell him that … imagine their family meeting Mauricio’s family together at the party … she prayed … may GOD help them. Amparito’s house Alfredo had invited his father to have breakfast with them but his father declined. He told them that, he just wanted to have a word with their mother. Alfredo & Humberto left the table to give way to their father. de la Vega house Mauricio came back with the food caterer. Tania greeted & told him that Carlota is upstairs, sick. Mauricio told her to attend & assist the food caterer. Amparito’s house Amparito said to Rogelio, … ‘finally, you’re ready to come back home’. Hearing that, Rogelio admitted to her that he had made his decision to leave the house a little hasty. He knows that he can not make Amparito hurt or sad during his father in law’s visit. Amparito has agreed to accept him but in several conditions ... that, he should kicked Desiree out of his life. Rogelio told her that he could not do that as they worked together & further more, she is one of the shareholders in the company. In the office Desiree arrived at the reception & asked the receptionist whether Mauricio is in or not. She got frustrated to hear that Mauricio would not be coming for the whole day. Amparito’s house Rogelio was listening to his wife’s 2nd condition … she told him that, as a husband, he should be doing his ‘duty’ to be with her from that day & every night onwards. Rogelio was shocked & confused. In the office Juana was with Brandy in the photography lab. They were talking about Juana’s affair & she being on cloud 9. Juana told her that, she could not wait for Mauricio & so, she asked Brandy’s help to see whether Mauricio is in the office or not. Desiree went to see Enriqueta in her office to ask Mauricio’s whereabouts. Enriqueta knew where her words was heading to … so she just told her that, … he’s not in & won’t be coming to the office for that day as he’ll be monitoring his adopted son’s party. Perez house Manuel bumped into A.Maria in the living room & asked her about Rafael’s party. He wanted to know whether the whole family is going or not. A.Maria said, yes … as a family we shall go. de la Vega house Mauricio went to see Carlota in their bedroom & saw her drinking, sitting on the bed. The moment he came in, Carlota didn’t say anything but watched. Amparito’s house Alfredo & Humberto were called to hear what their mother wanted to tell. She announced that, Rogelio is ready to come back to be with the family again. Afredo was supporting his father’s decision while Humberto was fed up with her mother, for not dumping him a long time ago. He does not want to face this kind of situation over & over again. Humberto got his face slapped by Rogelio for being so rude to him. Amparito was shocked to see Rogelio’s action. de la Vega house Carlota told Mauricio that she had received his message from Jose & she does not have any mood to prepare for the party. She is lazy & doesn’t want to do anything at all. Mauricio insisted that she had to put full attention to the party as it really matters to Rafael. She has to overcome her feelings & not mixed her emotions. In the office Brandy went back to Juana’s lab & told her that Mauricio is not coming, as he will be busy arranging & overlooking Rafael’s party. Juana was upset about Mauricio’s absent. She thinks to herself, … maybe Mauricio does not care about her anymore. So, she suggested to herself to call Mauricio at his house to say hello. de la Vega house Carlota went downstairs to the living room & sat on a chair … thinking of her dire situation. She is so worried to death with Mauricio’s feelings. All of a sudden, the phone rang … it rang quite some time before Mauricio (in his bedroom) picked it up. It was Juana calling to say hello to Mauricio. He was totally unaware that Carlota was eavesdropping downstairs. Carlota could not help but feel her temperature rise with anger. 'sólo a tu lado quiero vivir ... sin ti mi cielo se vuelve gris ...dime que hacer si no estás aqui...' I Feeeel Gooood ... To Be Continued on Tuesday, 10th June 2003 |
