Makoto Mizuhara The Leading Male Character. A young man from Shinonome High School. Having incurred the wrath of Katsuhiko Jinnai while he was the main witness in a rigged school election, he met Ifurita. She, in turn, sent him, Jinnai, Jinnai's sister Nanami Jinnai, and his history teacher Masamichi Fujisawa to the world of El Hazard. As like all the other off-worlders, he inherited a special ability to connect and control Ancient El Hazard technology. While this ability may not seem useful at first, it helped him free Ifurita from her control circuit and to eventually save El Hazard. He currently has made El Hazard his home, while he continues his research to reunite with Ifurita, whom he shares a deep bond. Currently, 3 other women are vying for his attention in the form of Nanami, The Fire Priestess Shayla Shayla, and the new Water Priestess Qawool Towles. However, he seems oblivious to their affections(It's called Tenchi Syndrome folks) as he longs deeply for Ifurita.Differences from Wanderers series: Instead of meeting Ifurita and she sending him to El Hazard, a science experiment gone wrong send him and his friends there. Makoto is now much more a science geek and his main love interest is a younger version of Rune Venus. Also his special ability is altered and now he simply has the abilty to activate certain items that only the royalty can activate.
Katsuhiko Jinnai Jinnai believes Makoto Mizuhara to be his 'destined rival.' While Jinnai is good at many things, Makoto always seems to be better. Unfortuanately, Jinnai's ego couldn't accept this and thus loathes Makoto with a passion. When it was discovered that Makoto was to testify against him in a hearing about an election he rigged, he decided to ambush him and prevent him from testifying. It was on that evening that He, Makoto, his sister Nanami Jinnai, and his history teacher Masamichi Fujisawa were all transported to El Hazard. Jinnai found himself alone and soon befriended the insectoid Bugrom race led by Queen Deva. As like all the other off-worlders, Jinnai inherited a special ability. His is the abilty to communicate and understand the Bugrom. Thus he has become their one of their leaders in their crusade to rule El Hazard. He sees himself as a great military genius, but actually, he's pretty much a klutz. Currently, he is trying to rebuild the Bugrom empire after their defeat at the hands of the Roshtarians so they can one day pose a threat. Him and his surviving band of bugrom(named Groucho, Harpo, Chico, Zeppo, Gummo, and Margeret) along with Deva try to renew their former glory. Jinnai is always scheming and is always trying to destroy his rival. Such schemes include the use of the Demon Goddess Kalia and the activation of the Spring of Life.

As like all the other off-worlders, she inherited a special ability. Hers in the ability to see through illusions. This was vital in uncovering the plot of master illusionists Galus of the Phantom Tribe in their attempt to destroy El Hazard. Currently she has made El Hazard her home and maintains a nice restaurant. She also has a similar franchise on Cretaria.
