Lights of Change (Part 3) By: Minako Kou and Makoto Kou Date started: January 4, 1998 Date finished: January 15, 1998 Inspirational music: "Starlights Transformation Theme," "Route Venus," "Nagareboshi he," "Ginga Isshinbun Chigai na Kata Omoi," "Koi da" Chapter 1 Yaten carried Sailor Jupiter. Taiki carried Neo-Sailor Saturn. Seiya carried Sailor Venus. The guys took the girls back to their house. Then they used the communicator to contact everyone else. Rei, Ami, Mamoru, Usagi, Setsuna, Haruka, Hinagiku, and Jeremy all showed up within the next hour. Seiya had not yet met Hina, so was of course confused. "This is Hina. She is Neo-Sailor Neptune, in much the same way that Tenshi is Saturn." Mamoru explained. "Who's Jeremy?" "That's Prince Jeremy of the Sun, Hina's husband. He's also Fire Masquerade; he's my counterpart from the sun. His main attack is to throw flaming daisies." "Interesting. So, where are Michiru and Hotaru?" Seiya knew that Tenshi showed up and what she did, but these others were just confusing him. "We don't know. They disappeared on a vacation to America while you were gone. Sailor Cosmos showed up and brought these people to help. Since we heard about this new enemy from you, we have begun to suspect that they were taken by him." "Mamo-chan...?" Usagi popped her head into the room. "Yes?" "Can I stay and help? I mean, I know you don't want me to help fight, but I can help with the girls..." She was looking at the ground and moving her foot back and forth slowly. "Hum. Okay, why don't you come over hear and take a look at Mina," She walked across Seiya's room, where Mina was once again lying on his bed. After Usagi had looked at all the girls she was of the conclusion that they had passed out due to stress. When she announced this they told her what had happened. "You mean I was right? For once I am correct!" Usagi seemed so happy. "Not like it was that astute of an observation," Yaten put in. "Yaten! Can't you behave like a civilized person? Even in a very grave situation, you are making fun of people with your snide remarks!" "Sorry, Seiya, but that's my way of dealing with emotional times. Or hasn't that become obvious by now?" "Yaten," everyone looked up in surprise. "With how often you let it out, you would think our lives were soap-operas," Mako put in. "Mako... you're awake!" Yaten looked like he was about to cry. "Now who's the quick one, genius?" She grumbled as she tried to sit up. "Are you okay, Mako-chan?" Usagi asked. "Usako... do I look like a physician? Is my name Doctor Kiren? Which by the way, Seiya...?" "Right here, Mako." "You should go call him, and then go to Mina. She and Tenshi will be waking up soon also." Mako looked around the room. "But Mako... how can you know that?" Usagi asked in awe. "And what are you looking for?" "A change of clothes. I don't know that anyone else noticed, but I'm still Sailor Jupiter. What would Doctor Kiren say? Oh, and you better get some for the others if they haven't been changed yet." Taiki looked at Seiya as he was walking out of the room. I guess I can lend you a pair of Tenshi's clothes I guess. Seiya, do you need some for Mina?" "No." He looked at the ground. "She left some from when she stayed here before. I already... um...have her changed." Everyone looked surprised. But Yaten and Mako started laughing. "Just don't tell her!" Mako said. "Yea, she'd die of embarrassment! You know how shy she is!" Seiya blushed. "I didn't say that I changed her! I had Usagi do it." "Oh yea, that's right! I forgot. Sorry for not coming to your defense Seiya." "That's ok Usagi." Mako said. "It's not like Seiya didn't wish he changed her." "MAKOTO!" Seiya turned deep red. Mako giggled. "Sorry, I just had to say it Seiya." "I think some of Yaten's attitude had rubbed off on you." It was Mako's turn to blush. "Uh-huh." Taiki came back into the room. "Um, Mako, I don't know how well these clothes will fit, after all, they are Tenshi's and you're much taller..." "That's ok Taiki. Thank you." Mako took the clothes and went in the other room to change. Yaten sat down and sighed. Seiya looked over at him. "Yaten, what has come over you?" Seiya asked him. "What do you mean?" He asked back. "I mean, you used to be so mean to everyone, especially Mako, and now every time she's in the room you act so..." "So?" "Nice." Taiki walked backed into Tenshi's room. Haruka was sitting with her. "How is she?" He asked. "Well, she's tried to become conscious a couple of times. I don't know if she will wake up anytime soon." "Actually, according to Mako, she should be waking up soon," As he said this Tenshi struggled to consciousness. Taiki smiled down at her. She looked around, then smiled also. "So, everyone else up yet?" "I don't know whether or not Mina is yet. Mako is though," He got down on his knees next to her side of the bed. He took her hand in his. "How are you doing?" "To tell you the truth... I don't know. The last thing I remember was saying my introduction. After that everything's blank. I feel fine though, just confused." "Well Doctor Kiren is on his way," He put his lips to her hand and gently kissed it. "He will check out you, Mina and Mako." "Well, that's not really necessary. I'm mean we're all fine, we just can't remember much." "I don't want to take any chances that you're really hurt." Tenshi smiled. "I know you don't." "Seiya, what's wrong with me being nice?" Yaten asked. "Yaten, it's just...not you." "So are you telling me I can't be nice?" "No, it just that it's really weird." "Oh I see." "Yaten, do you love her?" "What?" "Mako. Do you love her?" "Y---Ye---Yes." "Seiya..." Seiya turned around. Hina was standing in the doorway. "Mina's awake." Chapter 2 "Hi, Seiya." Mina looked up and smiled. "I just needed to see you. What happened?" "Well, after you got hit by the youma, not much else happened. They took off. We were defenseless to do anything against them, so we just grabbed you and brought you back here." "What!? You mean to tell me that those things are still roaming around Tokyo? Seiya! Why didn't you send the other scouts after them? Why didn't anybody do anything? Those things are going to come after us! We have to stop them!" Mina was becoming hysterical. She began to climb out of bed. She was about to say "Venus Crystal Power, Make Up!" when Seiya put his hands on her shoulders. "Just calm down, Mina. Mako said that those things were too strong for you, that's why we didn't send the other scouts after them." Mina sat and listened to Seiya. She began to think... how could he be so calm? "Why do you think they are going to come after you, Mina? No, wait. I want you to say this calmly and slowly, so that I can understand you." "Early this week, right before you showed up at mine and Mako's house... there was a youma... and..." "You didn't tell us about this!" "Seiya! Now you're the one yelling. We didn't think it was necessary. Anyway, as I was saying, there was a youma. It seemed to go directly after Usagi. I could have sworn it called Sailor Moon by name, and she wasn't even transformed! But that one we found easy to defeat. Jupiter and I just teamed up. I don't know what's going on, but I think those things are going for us directly, and they know who we are. I'm really scared, Seiya!" Mina buried her face in Seiya's shoulder. Seiya put his arms around her and thought. It was wrong of them not to tell us, but they didn't know... Seiya's thoughts took him everywhere. Then he thought of something else. Maybe they could find a weakness in their enemy. After all, Mako and Mina had found it easy to defeat the other youma. Maybe there was a clue in there somewhere... "Mina tell me the whole story." "Mamo-chan, do you suppose we should tell Seiya about that other youma we saw this week?" "Usako, I don't know what we should do anymore..." Right then Seiya walked into the room. He looked around at everyone gathered there, which was basically everyone but, Mina, Taiki, Tenshi and himself. These others followed him in. "I am aware that some of you know what happened at Mina and Mako's earlier this week. Mina has told me her story. I now want to hear everyone else's, starting with Usagi, then Mamoru, and last Mako." Everyone looked at Usagi, as if that was her cue. She looked up in shock, then at Seiya. She turned away in a blush. Mina couldn't help but feel that she still liked him. And he her. But if that were true, Seiya didn't let it show. He just looked directly at Usagi, unwavering. Mina was proud of him. He loved her deeply, yet when she showed that she had moved on with her life, he did so also. This also made Mina feel triumphant, because that meant that he had committed himself to her. "Well, all I actually remember is being chased around until Mina and Mako reminded me to change to Eternal Sailor Moon, and then they destroyed it. Other than that..." "Would you say it was relatively easy to defeat it?" Usagi looked up at Seiya. "Well, compared to the last time we tried to defeat someone? Yea, I think I would say that it was easier than it." "Okay, no need to get sarcastic. I just meant, compared to most of the youma that you've fought. Okay Mamo, you next" "Well Seiya, I was waiting out in the car, when I heard a crash from inside, and Usagi screaming for help. I changed into Tuxedo Kamen and arrived when Jupiter and Venus were transforming. Shortly thereafter they defeated the youma. It actually seemed easier than most." "Too easy," Mako chimed in. "It shouldn't have been so easy." Mako looked distressed. "Actually, she's right Seiya. We got rid of that thing way to fast. Maybe it was just a messenger, you know, to get us to come after this guy." Mina couldn't help but be a pessimist once in a while. "So what should we do? I mean, if it was a message, what was the message?" Taiki spoke up. "That you need to get your butt out of la-la land, and get it back in shape." Everyone looked up in surprise. "This will be your most formidable enemy yet, and here you are, acting as if you've never fought anyone before." Sailor Cosmos walked into the room. "When did you come back? I thought it was difficult for you to come back from the future. You came just recently to bring Jeremy, Hina, and Tenshi. How can you be here now?" Mamoru asked. "I waited a few years to make another journey into your time. For me it was five years ago that I brought them to you." "So why did you come back?" Mako spoke up. "I have brought you even more help. It turns out that Hotaru was killed by this new enemy, and Michiru was taken prisoner." Haruka gasped. Everyone was shocked. "So who's going to help us?" Mina asked. "Your children." Chapter 3 "Mina's kids?!" "And yours." "Mine?" Mako choked. "Yes, in my time, Seiya and Mina's twins and your daughter are the Starlights." Mina fainted. Seiya caught her but almost went down himself. "I brought them to help, but there's also a problem." "What problem?" Yaten asked. "I was forced to bring along the other twin. You and Mako also have twins, one is good, the other is..." This time Mako fainted. "I really thought they were doing better." Hina said. "I don't think the attack had anything to do with their fainting," replied Jeremy. "Don't worry. They will wake up in a second," put in Sailor Cosmos. "Maybe I should go ahead and bring in the Neo-Sailor Starlights. Meet Sailor Star Lover, Sailor Star Shaker, and Sailor Star Mover. The first and the last are your daughters, Seiya. The other is yours, Yaten." Three girls wearing the traditional Starlights fuku walked into the room. "Daughters? I thought that the Starlights were guys who changed into girls," said Mamoru. "Yes, on Earth they were, but as Seiya can tell you, they were girls originally on their home planet. It was only when they came here that they became guys. Then when they returned it became permanent and they lost their ability to become the Starlights." Everyone looked at Seiya, Yaten, and Taiki in surprise. Hundreds of questions began to flood the room. Basically everyone wanted to know whether or not it was true. Seiya looked at the ground and muttered something that sounded like an apology. Yaten looked at everyone. "It's true." "Maybe that's how you got mom killed." Came a remark from the doorway. Everyone turned in surprise. A girl was standing there in the traditional fuku of the planetary senshi. It looked exactly like Mako's except the leotard and gloves were black and her hair was the same color as Yaten's. "Who are you?" Asked Seiya. Sailor Cosmos spoke. "That's the other twin. Sailor Shadowhawk. I was forced to bring her along. I can't separate the twins, and I couldn't only bring two Neo-Starlights." Shadowhawk looked at her sister. "I didn't think you had the guts to come." "I had to." Remarked Star Shaker. Shadowhawk shrugged. "What's this about Mako being killed?" Mina woke up startled. She looked around and saw the Starlights. But then she realized that they weren't the Starlights. The first had a fuku exactly like Seiya's but with orange straps, she had dark hair like Seiya's, but Mina's blueberry eyes and her appearance. She appeared to be leader. This was Sailor Star Lover. The second was exactly like Yaten but with auburn hair. She had grass green eyes, and green straps on her fuku. That must have been Sailor Star Shaker. The third had to be Sailor Star Mover. Her hair was a cross between Mina's and Yaten's color. Her straps were blue. Beside them stood Sailor Shadowhawk. Mina was suddenly very confused. She didn't quite understand what was going on, but she had the feeling that something major was about to happen. "Yea. Mom was killed because poor father lost his ability to change and couldn't save her." She looked as though she was going to cry. "I'm not dead yet am I?" Mako woke dazed. "Mom?" Shadowhawk looked over from where she heard her voice. "What's going on?" Mako looked around. Yaten introduced her to everyone. She couldn't believe it. Star Shaker went over to her sister. "I know you miss her, but remember, here we aren't even born yet." "So?" "She's not mom yet, stupid." "I know that!" "Well then you shouldn't call her mom." "Shut up, dummy." Seiya looked at them. He knew that quarrel. They were definitely Yaten and Mako's kids. Mina got up and walked over to Star Lover and Star Mover. She knew these were her daughters. Even if she had never been told and even though she hadn't given birth to them yet, she knew they were hers. She embraced them each. "Now girls," Mina started. "I'm really confused." "Like that's new," Shadowhawk put in. Yaten glared at her and she shut up. She was used to getting those looks as she grew up. "Anyway," Mina continued. "I wanted to ask you to tell us what this is all about. Obviously, we won't be able to get those two to answer us correctly for awhile." "Well, if you talk to them separately, there's no problem. Other than the fact that Shadowhawk won't help you," Star Lover answered. "Unless her mother talks to her," added Star Mover. Everyone looked at Shadowhawk. "What?" "She won't talk as long as I'm in the room." Star Shaker said. Shadowhawk gave her sister an evil look. She smiled. "You've got that right." "You're acting just like dad!" "You try to act like mom, but we all know you could never be as great as her." "Shut up!" "YOU FIRST!" "STOPPIT!" Mako screamed. "Now, what's this business about Mako dying. I don't want any blaming or shouting. I just want you to tell us what happened," Seiya said in low calm tones that made everyone listen. "Okay Da... uh sorry. Seiya." Chapter 4 "It was three years from now. The battle against Kusso was taking longer than expected because the Starlights could not help out. The Sailor Senshi ran into an impasse each time they battled. They were strong enough not to lose though. "In the last battle before the Great Defeat, several Senshi were lost. This included Mako. It was also Haruka, Michiru, and Rei. They were trying to save some regular people from one of Kusso's attacks. It manifest as an earthquake. They were crushed in a building after shoving the last of the people out. "Seiya, Yaten, Taiki, and Mina just stood outside and watched it fall. They had just finished their group of people when the building started to fall behind them. They turned around in time to see the crowd of people rushing from the building. But the others were still in the lobby. At that moment the building collapsed. Yaten and Mina rushed up to the building to try and save them, but were held back by Seiya and Taiki. They kept telling Mina and Yaten that it was too late. We were there also, but there was nothing we could do. We were only just under two years old." "It was all fathers fault! If he hadn't let her go in there, Mother would still be alive!" After saying this, Shadowhawk looked across the room at her Mother. They locked eyes for a second and then Shadowhawk turned away in tears. "It was nobody's fault. Your mother was just too good to allow those people to stay in the building," comforted Sailor Cosmos. Mako felt really uncomfortable with all this talk about her. She looked over at Mina. Mina was crying. "Wait a minute!" Mina stopped crying. She just realized something that was said. "You were how old? This is three years from now?!" "We were one year and about ten months old. Shadowhawk and Star Shaker were actually a month older." Star Lover said. Seiya turned pale. Mina and Mako's mouths dropped open. Usagi started to giggle. "Wow, you guys sure do move fast!" Hina said. "Shut up! At least I wasn't born pregnant!" Mako shouted. Usagi stopped giggling. "Mamo-chan, she's being so mean!" "Oh Usagi, stop whining," Said Star Shaker. "I can remember you whining as long as I've been alive!" Star Lover and Star Mover glared at Star Shaker. "Kirei, can't you ever be nice to Usagi? I swear you and Salla have tortured her since I was born!" Said Star Lover. Shadowhawk decided to speak up. "Kirei and I have not! We couldn't speak at one month." "Besides, I remember the way you always pester Uncle Seiya. You and Ai expect everything and are so spoiled!" "Ashita and I are not spoiled. Salla, I remember how you pestered Uncle Taiki until you got whatever you wanted. And you, Kirei, were always pulling out Tenshi's braids." Sailor Star Lover interrupted. "Your such a brat Ai!" Salla shouted at her. "I'm a brat!? What about you? Miss 'I wanna be evil because my mom's dead'?" Star Lover said. "There obviously your children," Mamoru said to Seiya and Yaten. Seiya and Yaten glared at Mamoru. There was an earth shattering boom. Salla smiled. "They're here!" she jumped up and left. "Who's here?" Usagi asked. "Oh no." Everyone was staring at Sailor Cosmos for a long while as she paced and shook her head. "Oh dear. Why did this have to happen? It was just fated to happen. I hoped to prevent it. Oh dear." She kept muttering while she thought of what to do. "Who's here? You know something! Are you going to tell us?" Mina asked. "Huh?" Sailor Cosmos looked up at her and the rest. "Oh. Yes, you should know. It was Mamoru and Usagi's children." Chapter 5 "C-children? How many children?" Mamoru asked. "Four," Cosmos answered calmly. "Unfortunately they're all bad." "Why didn't they stick around like Shadowhawk?" Mina asked. "Well, I didn't even expect her to stick around. Only now do I realize that Shadowhawk gained enough energy from her master to bring back the rest. Now the scales have been re-balanced. With their power, there's only one course of action left." "Seiya, Yaten, Taiki gather hands with Star Lover, Star Shaker, and Star Mover. Concentrate no on the actions of you old life, but the properties of it. I want you three to think of who you were, what you did, and how you changed." Mina and Mako watched as the circle of six began to glow. Sailor Cosmos kept giving instructions as everyone stared. "Now I want you to think of yourselves as you are now." A little glow left the group. "Think of your present emotions and feelings toward others." They group glowed more brightly than they had before. "Think about yourselves as the Starlights in your present situation, and how you would react to that situation." The group was almost blinding now. "Sailor Starlights, I want you to transform!" "FIGHTER STAR POWER, MAKE UP!" "HEALER STAR POWER, MAKE UP!" "MAKER STAR POWER, MAKE UP!" The three of them just stood there after their transformation. Everyone stared. It worked! They were the Starlights again. Mina ran over and hugged Seiya. Then she looked over at her... uh... daughters. They stood there in normal guise. "Oh! Did you have to give up your powers?" Mina cried in despair, If they didn't have all six Starlights they were doomed! "No, but when they transformed, we changed back. It won't always be that way, but at the moment we haven't enough power to stay in Starlight form. It took a lot of energy to give father, Uncle Yaten, and Uncle Taiki back their powers. We should be fine in a few hours." Ai answered. "We'll be fine with a little rest, mother," Ashita responded. "Mother... ?" Kirei said. She began to sway. Mako ran over and caught her right before she fell. Kirei opened her eyes. Mako looked down at her. "You're ok." Mako smiled. "Where am I?" Kirei asked. "You're in Yaten's room." "This is dad's room?" "Uh...I guess you can say that." "The house looks so different. It's not at all the way I remember it. The place was a mess a lot. I guess it was because you weren't there, and we all knew Mina couldn't clean too well. Dad was depressed a lot. He could be so mean sometimes, but he missed you." Yaten walked into the room. He looked at Kirei. "How are you?" She smiled. "I'm fine." Mina then popped in her head. "We're ordering in for dinner. What do you want?" "What! No way! I'll make dinner," Mako yelled. "No!" Mina ran over to Mako and whispered in her ear, "I want to give you some time to get acquainted with Kirei. You're going to stay put! "I'll just order three general meals!" She said aloud as she left the room. "What will we do with her?" Yaten said sarcastically. "I don't know, but she never wanted to cook much," Kirei said. She acted as if she had had this conversation a million times over. Mako just watched the two of them. Other than of course the hair color, Kirei looked just like Yaten; she even had the same mannerisms. Yaten, who just realized it was Kirei who responded and not Mako, looked startled. She looked so much like Mako it surprised him. It was definite that this was their daughter. Mina walked downstairs. She just knew that the trio up in Yaten's room would get along beautifully. Wasn't she right about the relationship between Mako and Yaten after all? Mina walked into Seiya's room. When Kirei passed out, Ai suggested that maybe it would be best if she and Ashita go lay down. Seiya had sent them to his room. She looked over at the bed, that had recently held her body. Was that how small I looked to Seiya? she wondered. Ashita lay on the right side of the bed. She really was the replica of her father, just with blonde hair. And Ai was like looking in the mirror in the dark. What would she do with these girls when she actually had them? Would she be a good mother? Would she be able to make them happy, and too take away all their sorrows? Oh, how she just wanted to run over and sweep them up in her arms! They were hers and Seiya's, and they were beautiful! What must their childhood memories be like? Will it be the same if we change the outcome? Obviously not all of it. But would they be happy? That's all she wanted to know. Seiya walked out of his bathroom. He went over and put his arm around Mina. They stared at Ai and Ashita while they slept. It was wonderful having his powers back! Maybe now he wouldn't feel so helpless. He loved those girls for what they had done. Were they really his though? Appearance could answer his question, but he didn't even know that he wanted it answered. He loved them though. Maybe it was just gratitude. Chapter 6 Tenshi, Hina, Taiki, and Jeremy all sat and waited for dinner to show up. While they sat they discussed. "So, what did you think of that whole scene earlier, Taiki? You were, after all, apart of it." Jeremy asked. "I really have no idea what to think," he put his arm around Tenshi. "I gave up my changing abilities just to be with Tenshi. My brothers knew how much I wanted it, so they followed. Now I can't help but that think they had motives of their own." He looked at Tenshi and smiled. She leaned forward and kissed him on the cheek. "I didn't know whether or not you two would make it," Hina looked embarrassed at saying this. "But I mean, you know, what with the time differences and all." Taiki thought about the story. It was fraught with a lot of difficulties. Mina walked in with the food. "I've been meaning to ask you how you met. Oh, Mamoru and Usagi, Haruka, Setsuna, Rei, and Ami all left. They decided they'd had enough excitement for one day and went home. They'll be back to visit tomorrow." Then she looked at Hina and Jeremy. "Seiya invited you to stay the night. He says there's enough bedrooms for everybody." "Who all's 'everybody'?" asked Tenshi. She looked at Taiki with a sly look on her face. "Well, lets see. Ai and Ashita of course, and Kirei too. That would leave... oh! Me and Mako! That's it. Why?" "Well," Taiki said. "We only have six beds. With Kirei on Yaten's and your twins... uh sorry, the twins on Seiya's, where will Seiya and Yaten sleep?" "Uh..." Mina trailed off because she, Mako, Yaten, and Seiya had already discussed the sleeping arrangements. "You needn't worry about that! You and Tenshi just sleep in your room, and we'll get a room for Hina and Jeremy. The rest of us will work everything out!" Hina and Jeremy looked at each other. Right away Mina knew they had caught on. But neither one would say anything. They looked across the coffee table at Taiki and Tenshi. Taiki and Tenshi met them wit a similar glance. Mina suddenly became uncomfortable. "Oh, come on now! Of course Yaten and I will stay in the same room, and Mako and Mina in a different one!" Seiya walked into the room and over to Mina. He put his arm around her. She felt like she had been saved just in time. "Why don't you tell us the story of how you met!" Mina suggested to Taiki and Tenshi. She really wanted to change the subject. "Okay, but you have to be an attentive audience. Otherwise it's not worth it!" Tenshi said. "Well, it started when Princess Kakyuu told me that I had to go into the future to look for our new home. Seiya and Yaten were both looking in the present." Taiki started. "Word had been sent ahead to prepare for my arrival on future Earth. But when I got there, everything was in ruins. I decided to go looking for the Neo-Sailor Scouts." "That's when we found him." Tenshi continued. "Hina, Jeremy and I were with the Neo-Sailor Starlights when we came across Sailor Star Maker. We all reacted in surprise because as far as we new there were only three Starlights. The girls recognized him. They knew that he was Star Maker, their uncle's old form. But we were all confused because we knew Taiki and we thought he couldn't transform anymore." "They confronted me, thinking I was an imposter. Then Sailor Cosmos showed up and explained everything to all of us. I was continuing to look for-" "Wait a second! Taiki, are you telling us that you knew about the girls upstairs and didn't mention a word of it to us?" Seiya asked incredulous. "Well, yes, actually. But I also knew that you and Mina would end up together. And that Mako and Yaten would," he said looking at them. "I knew that you would have kids together and that they would become the Neo-Sailor Starlights. I just didn't know that we would lose then regain our powers. I didn't want to mention anything because I didn't know if that would change the way things would occur." "So did you know that I am going to die?" Mako asked hesitantly. "Yes. But I found out a short while later that Tenshi, Hina and Jeremy were coming back in the past. I didn't know when you were going to die though. I figured though that Sailor Cosmos might have it in mind to try and change the death of the Sailors." "It was during that short period of time before we left that Taiki and I fell in love. We were spending a lot of time together. The Neo-Starlights didn't tell us that it was going to happen, that's why it still happened." "Sailor Cosmos came and told me that she was taking Tenshi back to the time shortly after the Starlights left Earth. I loved Tenshi, so I just had to return to the past. But that's the funny thing about time, you can go anywhere you want. I just chose to give Tenshi sometime to help on Earth before I went back to the time I left. I told Seiya and Yaten about what had happened. The agreed to return to Earth with me, even though it cost us our powers to do so." Chapter 7 Taiki and Tenshi went into more details about their romance at Mina's behest. "Oh! That's so romantic. I just love romance," Mina cried out when they finished. This made Seiya feel a little uncomfortable. "On that cue," Taiki said. "We should all head to bed." They all walked upstairs to the rooms. Tenshi and Hina made sure that Mako and Mina went into the same room and Seiya and Yaten walked into another room. When they figured everyone was situated, they went to their own rooms. Twenty minutes later Mina popped her head out the door. "All clear? Are they asleep?" Mako whispered. Mina nodded. Down the hall they heard someone ask if it was all clear. Mina and Yaten crept out of their respective rooms. Yaten and Mina crept past each other. Mako watched as Yaten stopped Mina and whispered something in her ear. Mina smiled at him and snuck over to Seiya's temporary bedroom. Yaten lurked through the hallway. With he reached Mako's door he rushed in and greeted her with a kiss. "Mina, what did Yaten say to you last night in the hallway?" Mako couldn't help but ask her. She then turned back to the stove. "He said that it was a good thing that he likes me more than he does Odango Atama. Then he said 'Yoi koun, Aino Odango.'" Mina got a smile on her face. Mako turned around to see the smile. "You know, you'd almost think that one little complement from Yaten makes you happier than one big night with Seiya," Mako teased. "You guys didn't! Did you?" There turned around to see Hina in the doorway. "Of course not!" Mako said (too) quickly. "I just meant that one day it would happen... after we're married, of course... and that Mina's attitude today about Yaten just suggests what I said." Mako then looked down at herself. She was making a huge batch of pancakes in nothing but Yaten's shirt from yesterday. A huge sweatdrop appeared. Mina was suddenly happy that she had a spare change of clothes. But then again, she didn't have anything to be ashamed about; after all, she only slept in Seiya's arms last night. Hina looked relieved. "Oh ok, I'm glad you're going to wait until you're married to do stuff like that." Mina looked like she was going to laugh. Then Mako started to sing. "Dream, dream dream dream, a dream..." Mina couldn't hold it anymore. She started to laugh. She couldn't stop laughing. Seiya and Yaten came downstairs. Mina looked at them and started to laugh harder. "Huh?" They said in unison. "Mako's making breakfast, in your shirt Yaten, Mina's laughing at her, and I'm getting really confused." Hina said, then she sat down at the table next to Mina. That evening, Yaten and Mina went for the switch again. Mina was a little late in starting off. Yaten was getting to Mako's door as Mina was leaving. "Good luck, Aino Odango!" he said. She wondered why he said that and turned back. "What do you mean?" Mina asked "I just mean that last night I had to return to Seiya's room to get my spare clothes, and I noticed that you two didn't do anything. What's the matter, couldn't get Seiya to cooperate?" Yaten teased. "What?!" Mina yelled. Mako and Yaten both got shocked looks on their faces, because Mina was still in the hallway. "How dare you?! We chose not to do anything, unlike somebody else I can name!" "Mina! Shhh!" Mako whispered. She just knew that it woke someone up. "...huh?" came from down the hallway. Mina realized that a door behind her had opened. She suddenly stopped yelling and slowly turned around. "What are you doing... huh? I could've sworn that somebody else was here." Hina said to Mako. Mako, who had quickly grabbed Mina and Yaten and shoved them both into her room, stared at Hina. "What? I didn't see anybody else." Mako noticed that no one else woke up; that gave her an idea. "I could've sworn that someone was yelling..." "Well, actually, you know that saying... uh, never wake a sleepwalker? Well, you were standing in the hallway yelling and it woke me up." Mako looked over Hina's shoulder. Seiya was down at the end of the hallway, looking out through a crack in his door. "And, uh, I came out here. You suddenly stopped, then looked at me like you were confused." "Oh. Sorry to wake you up," Hina rubbed her eyes as she walked back into her room sleepily. "Okay. Mina! Get your butt out here!" Mina came rushing out of the bedroom. "Now go down there, and don't stop until you reach Seiya's room. Got it?" Mina started walking. She was about to turn around and say thanks to Mako for helping her out of a jam, when Mako whispered loudly for her not to. Mina kept going. Chapter 8 Minako looked her daughter right in the eyes. She couldn't believe her daughters candidness about everything. "Mom, I'm telling you that you and father get married tomorrow. You get married in Scotland. You have to leave now." "But Ai... I was just getting to know you two. I don't want to leave yet!" "Mother, Ai's right. You have to leave this morning. Besides, we'll still be here when you get back! It's not like you're leaving for good, nor are we." Ashita put in. Right then Seiya walked into the room. He hadn't heard a word of the girls' conversation. Mina noticed he had traveling papers in his pocket. "You already talked to your father about this, didn't you!" She accused. "No! I swear we didn't!" They said in unison. "Actually, Yaten and I have to go to Scotland for a few days. Sorry we didn't tell you, but we only found out last night after dinner." "You didn't tell me when we were in bed?!" "What!?" The twins said together. "Honey, how else are you supposed to be born?" "Mom never was one who kept things like that to herself..." "Yea. I remember when she came downstairs one morning when we were five, and started telling us about how good father was..." "ANYWAY!" Seiya interrupted. "Yes, well last night was wonderful, being our first night and all, but if I had known that you would be going away Seiya, it could have been so much better!!" She cried. "I have an idea!" Ai said excitedly. "You do... about what?" Seiya said. "Dad, um sorry, why are you going to Scotland? Does Uncle Yaten have to go along?" "Um... well, lets see, I'm going to sell a house I own up there. No he doesn't why?" "Oh! Perfect! Then you can take Mom instead!" "Huh?" Seiya asked. "Don't ask," Mina said. "Hmm, well I could do that...Now wait a sec! Why are you so interested in this Ai?" "Gotta go! Time for our morning jog. See ya later when you get back!" She then grabbed Ashita by the arm and they ran out of the house. "Huh?" he said again. "Don't ask," Mina repeated. "You know what's going on don't you. Come on, out with it!" He started chasing her around the house. Mina was screaming, "I don't know Anything!" over and over again. As they ran past Yaten and Mako's room, Yaten said "That's for sure!" in reply to her screams. Kirei, who had been getting into the wine at last nights dinner, popped her head out of Yaten's actual room and whispered "Look whatever you two want to do is fine by me, but keep it to yourselves." Mina and Seiya stopped outside the door long enough to hear her. They both looked at each other, smiled, then took off again. Hina walked out of her room. "It's six o'clock in the morning, you guys!" When they didn't stop she said, "I know I'm not sleepwalking this time!" then she went back into her room. Tenshi and Taiki popped their head out of Taiki's room. They watched as Mina and Seiya ran past. They looked at each other, got odd looks on their faces, then went back into Taiki's room for the next hour or so. Eventually Mina and Seiya calmed down. By the time they stopped running around, Seiya had forgotten why he was chasing her. They packed their stuff, and were about to leave when Ai and Ashita returned. Mina became weepy eyed. She hugged her daughters good bye. While she was packing, she told Mako about how she was getting married this weekend. Mako wished her luck, and told her that she may do the same, right here in Tokyo. Mina and Seiya were so happy when their were on the plane. It seemed like everything in their lives was going right. Mina let a small dark cloud hang over her head though. She wondered if she and Seiya would be so happy, if he had seen Usagi during these last two days. It was Seiya who didn't want to do anything that first night, but not for the reasons Yaten stated. It was because he still loved Usagi. She would make him forget her, she swore it! "Mina... Mina, come in Mina! Ah, your back! You looked very concentrated on something; what was it?" Seiya was looking at her with the most gorgeous smile on his face. "Oh, just wonder about those youma at the Tokyo dome..." "Well, I have something that will take your mind off it! Flight Attendant? Could you please bring us a glass of Champaign? Thank you." "Seiya, what are you up to?" Mina was almost afraid to ask. "I wasn't exactly truthful with you about something..." He trailed off. "What is it?" Mina exclaimed. "I never intended for Yaten to go on this trip!" He looked up into her eyes and smiled. It took Mina a minute to register what had been said because she was waiting for something horrible. "Wha... you mean you planned for me to come all along?" Right then the Champaign arrived. The flight attendant poured two glasses full of this bubbly stuff. When Mina looked at her glass she noticed an engagement ring in the bottom. She squealed in delight. "Seiya! You did talk to Ai and Ashita! Didn't you? Admit it!" "Actually, no. Why did they tell you... oh! This morning! Oh. I just thought this would be romantic, I swear!" "What did you think, that you'd have to get me drunk to get me to marry you?! Stand up!" Then right there, in front of everyone, she wrapped her arms around Seiya and gave him the most sensual kiss yet. "You knew?" Seiya asked, a little disappointed. "I didn't know that it was true. Ai was saying we had to go to Scotland today. I asked over and over again 'why?'. They finally relented and told me. I still didn't half believe it when you walked in with the tickets." "Well, we're on our way now. I already planned the ceremony, so-" "What! You mean I have nothing to do?" "But pick out your dress..." "Seiya... you're perfect!" "Well get married in the forest, mid-day, with only enough witnesses to be legal. Then we'll spend the next few days in my house there, until we feel ready to go home." "Seiya, I love you so much! It's like you know exactly what I want! Wait, is this the house that you are selling? If you needed to leave to day to give it to them, won't they be upset if we're still in it?" "Oh! I'm not selling the house! I plan to return there for years to come, with our beautiful daughters." Mina leaned her head on Seiya's shoulder, when he said this. "Our beautiful daughters..." she whispered. Then she fell asleep. Chapter 9 The next morning, Yaten and Mako were having tea in the garden. Yaten and she were discussing recent events rather pleasantly. Suddenly, Yaten decided to change the subject. "So where to do you want to go to get married?" Mako looked at him and blinked. "You call that a proposal?! As if! Who even said that I wanted to get married to you, anyway?" Yaten looked shocked. Suddenly he realized what she was up to. "Yea, well your mine now!" He snarled and grabbed for her. She squealed and ran into the kitchen. Yaten, of course, followed. He ran to block her way out of the kitchen. Yaten stood in the doorway. A confused Jeremy walked up, with Hina behind Yaten, and told Mako good morning. Yaten ducked. Next thing Hina knew, Jeremy was laying flat on his back, Yaten was scrunched down next to him, and Jeremy had a big red mark on his head. She looked up at Mako, then she looked down next to Jeremy's head. There was a broken dish. "Mako!" "Hey what's... down?" Taiki asked. He looked down at Jeremy, then up at Mako and Yaten, who stared innocently. "What's wrong with Jeremy?" "I don't know why he has to throw flaming daisies... otherwise, he probably wouldn't have wussed out," Yaten joked. "Flaming daisies?! I'll give you flaming daisies! "Neo-Neptune Crystal Power, Make Up!" "Hina, what are you doing?!" Tenshi gasped. Hina gritted her teeth. "TRUST ME, Tenshi." "Jupiter Crystal Power, Make Up!" "Huh?!" Hina looked over in surprise. "Sailor Neptune, you will not touch my fiancée, or else." Jupiter said in a foreboding tone. "Sailor Jupiter, you were trying to hurt him only a few minutes ago. I just plan to finish the job." "Yea, well, he's my fiancée so I'm allowed to hurt him!" "Uh, you two," Taiki started. "I don't think that electricity and salt water mix to well..." Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at him. Yaten finally stood back up. Suddenly, without warning, Mako and Hina started laughing! Everyone else was confused. But because the mood had been lightened, everyone else started laughing too. "So where shall we go?" Mako asked Yaten. "Huh? What are you talking about?" "Our wedding silly!" Mako tried to tickle Yaten, but he moved out of the way in time. He just looked at her and smiled. "It's a surprise." "Oh, come on Yaten! The suspense is killing me!" Mako sat on the plane, trying to figure out what was going on. Because this was Yaten's personal jet, the flight attendant didn't have to announce the flight. "Just wait, okay?" Yaten really wanted it to be a surprise. "Oh, Yaten, please! I'll do anything you want," she begged. "Hum. This could get interesting. When do I have to collect on this by?" She smiled. "You have one week." "Perfect." "Oh, no! What are we going to do? There is no one else around, Ai." Ai looked at her sister. Don't you think I know that?! How are we supposed to fight against a youma by ourselves? I don't know. Just shut up, while I think, Ashita!" "Really, Ashita. You would think you were still in diapers, I swear." She looked away like she was disgusted. The youma came at them again. The three girls just stood motionless as it come closer and closer. End of Part 3
