Camping is one of our favorite ways to relax. Our favorite places to go in the L.A. area are the Kern River and Buckhorn. Unfortunately, it is getting harder to find good, rustic, peacefull places to camp. This is Buckhorn. This is one of those great places
Buckhorn is very rustic for a campground so close to the city. Just 30 min NE of Pasadena. It is a great weekend getaway. It is the only local campground with big trees and good hiking trails.
Picking out the best site is the key to a fun stay. Hi John.
Coyotes will come into your site, but be careful, they are not tame.
When we car camp, we go in style. A big cushy chair is always nice.
We are not in the Sequoias, but you can still find some pretty big trees.
HEHE...Fire! This one is a good wallpaper.
Rocks, rocks, rocks, we got lots 'o' rocks.
This is a waterfall when the season is right.
Buckhorn has great hiking.
John on a natural bridge.
You need to keep your eyes pealed for things like big spiders and rattlesnakes. We havn't run across any mountain lions or bears yet. Check out the spider size compared to the footprint.
