MACK - WHAT IT MEANS
My
opening page is the Chinese character for my last name, MACK.
I get lots of comments about my name.
When I was younger I used to get "Mack attack", "Big Mac", "Mack Truck"
etc, etc etc.... I can’t tell you how much I hated it! I used
to think my name was a big pill! Now a lot of people ask if it’s
like MAC cosmetics since I am a makeup artist. Again, nope.
It’s just a fluke that my name happens to be similar to a famous cosmetic
company. I am pretty cool with my name now in fact I have to say,
it really rocks!
The origin of my family name is really an interesting
story. Mack means "wheat". Legend has it that one of my ancient
ancestors in one of the dynasties (I’m not sure which one but I’m sure
it was a memorable one) was a palace servant. He was laughed at because
he preferred bread to rice and was renamed "wheat" by the Emperor.
Not that I would have minded being the heir to
the "other" Mack fortunes!
