Make Your Own Cake Mix
6 c. flour
3 Tbsp. baking powder
1-1/2 c. Crisco
4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
In large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder and
salt. With pastry blender, cut in the shortening until mixture resembles
cornmeal. Store in an airtight container in cool, dry place. If possible,
use within one month but if kept cool and dry it WILL keep slightly longer.

8 Inch Cake for 2
2 c. cake mix
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 c. milk
Stir ingredients for plain cake until well blended.
Pour into 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

Two-Layer Cake
4 c cake mix
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c milk
Combine ingredients and mix until well blended. Pour
into 2 8" layer cake pans OR a 9 x 13" pan and bake at 350 degrees for
25 to 30 minutes or until cake tests done.
