2 c flour 
2 c sugar 
2 c applesauce 
2 tbsp baking powder 
2 eggs 
1 ½  tsp baking soda 
½ c shortening 
1 tsp cinnamon 
½ tsp salt 
1 {6oz} pkg chocolate chips 
½ c nuts 

Combine ingredients and beat with mixer till blended. Pour in greased and floured 13x9 inch pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
