ALOHA!
It has been my desire for some time to have a
portrait done of my husband, Stanley Nakai Elua Makekau. And it is with loving hands
and love for him that I have created this page to share with friends and family
. Nakai was born May 24, 1935 in Maui, Hawaii and comes
from the linage of the Maui Ruling Chiefs..Ruling Chief Kekaulike's son, Kamehamaha Nui is
my husband's line of descent,(my webpage under PAKI Genealogy).
So to honor his rank I made his cape to wear
in his portrait. For a close up of the embroidery you can go to my photo page and then to
arts and crafts. These designs were made at my husbands request. The kahili on the
right and left sides and a badge decipering Iao Valley on Maui. It is my hope that
this cape will remain with our descendants after we have gone back to Heavenly Father...So
that they remember their Hawaiian linage and heritage.
