Behind the sofa is a Betsy Westendorp oil painting
in rich patinas of greens, yellows and oranges.
The side tables are lacquered bridal chests with Ifugao
nito water jugs for lampshade bases. Personal character
is expressed through the items on the coffee table top: Cambodian
and Vietnamese silver boxes of shell pieces, lacquer in-laid
vases form Thailand and India, ostritch eggs handcarried from
South Africa and a quirky floral centerpiece of lotus buds
and palm leaves complete the ensemble.
