“OK”
BACK-OFF!
The militant Left
coalition Laban ng Masa (LnM) today protested in front of the
notorious LTA Building in Makati City . This
building houses the private office address of First Gentleman Mike
Arroyo, which is also known as the “Opisina ng Kabiyak” (or OK),
wherein corrupt government deals were alleged to have been made
at.
Around eighty LnM
activists chanted anti-Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo slogans when they
marched from the Greenbelt Mall to the “OK”, which is located only
two blocks away. As they marched, they held up a
tarpaulin bearing an image similar to the official seal of the
Office of the President of the Philippines but showing the words
“Opisina ng Kawatan” and ‘Back-off!!!’ above the
seal.
Upon reaching the
LTA Building , the activists attempted to attach the tarpaulin seal
on the main entrance of the “OK” but were blocked by the building’s
security guards from doing so. The activist group
then held a brief mass-die-in action to attract more attention from
the public while maintaining their militant
chants.
A brief public
program was then conducted in front of the “OK” with some LnM mass
leaders explaining their issues against FGMA and his wife’s
corrupting role inside the Philippine Government and upon society.
One of the speakers was Rasti Delizo, Spokesperson of SANLAKAS and a
National Council member of LnM.
In his
speech at the rally, Delizo said, “We came here to show the
public that the LTA building must now officially be recognized and
viewed as the ‘Opisina ng Kawatan’”. Delizo
also explained, “this is because it is in this ‘OK’ where some
very dark and evil deals involving millions and perhaps billions of
pesos are made for only the benefit of the Arroyo couple at the
expense of the masses’ welfare.”
In closing
the rally program, the LnM leader further stated that, “Our
people should now realize that while Gloria still rules from her
Palace of Evil in Malacañang, her husband FGMA now also pursues his
own brand of Gangster Rule from the ‘Opisina ng Kawatan’ located
inside the LTA Building itself.”
The protest rally
ended peacefully with the LnM activists promising to escalate their
mass protest actions against the GMA Regime until it is ousted
through another people power uprising and replaced with a
Transitional Revolutionary Government (TRG). They
dispersed in an organized
manner.
