NEED FOR WATER CONSERVATION
Water is tremendously scarce. The industrial and domestic consumers are clamoring and rioting for water everyday. The "tanker mafia" is reaping a windfall charging atrocious amounts and arbitrarily dictating supply. We have been compelled to conserve water. The Begums with picturesque gardens are sacrificing their precious creativity. Industrial production and housing construction have slowed down too.
Alas, there are many who really don’t care about wasting water. Just observe some of the upright Maulanas criminally wasting precious water while performing ablutions in the Mosques. The way they take a lot of time, splashing water, unmindful of their act, seems as if the water tank holds more water than Niagara Falls. They don’t give a hoot, and in an insouciant way, go on effecting an elaborate choreography, very much aware that the "faithful" are glancing at them with obvious disdain.
It would be a very religious and a humane gesture if, in these times when water supply is lowest, the venerable Mullahs would save water. Do they waste this much water at home for ablutions or even for taking showers? Will some enlightened Islamic scholar please educate us if it is absolutely necessary to take that much time to perform ablutions and waste valuable water?
