Dear Sir:
Sub: ONE AMONG THE FEW UPRIGHT PERSONS
This is with reference to the letter by Dr. B. Zahiruddin published on 21 Oct. 95 in your esteemed publication. It is a well-known fact that the "lucky lady" he refers to is Nahid, the wife of Raja Mirza Syed Muhammad Kamaluddin Azfar Allahbadi who is the "lucky" Governor of "unlucky" Sindh. The wedding was also highlighted in a Reader’s Digest article few decades ago.
However, the readers would really like to know the name of the admirable General who is a jewel in the tiara called the Pakistan Army. The only wish and prayer is that people, whether they are the armed forces, political personalities, bureaucrats, the landed gentry, or the nouveau riche, would try to emulate this exemplary General, and hopefully not the former bridge-playing Secretary of Industries.
Yours etc:
MIKE BAXTER
