Opposition Leader, Mian Nawaz Sharif, has made a big hullabaloo of the yet-to-be- confirmed purchase of a 2.5 million pounds mansion in Surrey, England. He demanded the source of this income. The answer is simple (assuming the Premier DID purchase this choice property) :
- She and her spouse are agriculturists. Thus they are exempted from income taxes and do not have to account for their wealth.
- She is the undisputed ruler of PPP. The Jiyalas are rich and loaded. Most of them are now in a position to pay tithe at the altar of the Chairperson.
- She bought a lot of Rs 25,000 Prize Bonds of the same number and maybe hit the jackpot.
- She could have saved her allowance money sent by ZAB during the years she was a student at Oxford and today that money, after shrewd investments, has multiplied into millions.
- She could have saved the cash presents she got on her wedding day, on her birthdays, and on the birth of her three children.
- She could have saved the royalty from her book, "Daughter of Destiny" and used this for making the down payment.
Why is MNS making such a fuss ? Buying of properties in alien lands by national leaders is no big thing. It’s routine !
