SUB: SIMPLE WAY OUT

The Ministry of Finance and the CBR mandarins are stuck with the GST albatross around their necks. They have sacrificed their independence at the altar of the high priests of IMF. Being non-elected and answerable to no one but themselves, they huffed and puffed their way into the inner sanctums of the business leadership cajoling them with lollipops, manipulating those businessmen who are now heading government organizations, utilizing services of those industrialists who have access to the highest echelons of power, all in the effort to get the industrial community to agree to the notorious GST.

In the beginning, many business leaders got ensnared due to the obvious machinations but when the dust settled in and reality shone thru their office windows, they discovered that GST will soon become an ogre and their businesses will have a "out of business" sign on the main gate. The FPCCI President has also seen thru the game plan and has changed his tune. There is this feeling that even the government is looking for an escape from imposing this haphazard and ill-planned GST. Maybe the strikes and threats of factory closures will be the catalyst that will save this government from further subservience to the demi-gods of IMF. Therefore, Qazi, Sharif, Butt, and Bilour, et al, might save the government and the country by going on a HYPER-STRIKE. The message to them is right out of the advertisement from a well-known shoe company: JUST DO IT !

Yours etc:
