ACCEPTANCE OF KALABAGH DAM

The Chief Executive has given a clarion call for the construction of Kalabagh Dam as it is in the larger national interest. Naturally, the opponents have vociferously come out with their objections and have vowed not to allow anyone to build this Dam. The humdrum justification hyped up on PTV will not change the views of those who oppose it. If the Chief Executive really wants to build the Dam, he should immediately do the following:

Get the United States to publicly declare that Washington is dead set against the construction of Kalabagh Dam and will not look favorably to this Dam being built. If UK and Japan can be persuaded to come out with this type of message too, it would make the case more effective. The ensuing result would be that the nation would unite to castigate the Americans for interfering in internal affairs, for paving the way for Indian hegemony in the region, and for being part of the great Jewish conspiracy against Islam.

At the same time, General Musharraf should announce that the name of the dam would be Jinnah Dam. This would stir up nationalistic feelings with added fervor, and the juices of patriotism would ensure that those who are against the Dam are proclaimed as against the ideology of this country.

Lo and behold, the Dam would be a national reality. That’s all there is to it!

Sincerely:
