The Motor Vehicle Bureau abruptly stopped the issuance of car numbers at AD series and switched to AAA and so on. Is it true that this was done so that a VVIP could then reserve AAZ series for his cars ?

It reminds one, of the demand of a flamboyant ex-COAS who wanted MAB-1 for his sports car, and thus got the NWFP authorities to start the MAB series for cars registered in Manshera, even though it would have been years before this series would have commenced.
