![]() ![]() Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of the Examination Room. I know it has been quite a while since my last (and first) column, but we here in the MOW have been busy the last few months. First off, I would like to apologize to our fans, both old and new for our lateness over the summer. As many of you know, the Madmania PPV was held up for several months due to protests and legal action. As a part of the court case, we are not allowed to discuss this matter, but it did set us back financially for a while. We have also been renegotiating our television and pay per view contracts, which is why we havent had any TV shows since Weekend at Bernies. I am happy to report that the carnival and pay per view at Bernies home was a huge success. We made enough money to finish paying our legal fees, and to go on the road. We put on nine house shows during the month of September. These shows were done in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Illinois, and Michigan. We are pleased to report that seven out of nine of these shows were sellouts. Now that we are in the black, what are we going to do you ask? Well we are taking our show on the road, permanently, thats what. We will broadcast our first Asylum on our new network, Saturday September 30th, from Mad-arena in Madison, WI. After that first show, we will be heading out on the highway, taking a chance before we fall. Since we havent been on TV for a month now, I wanted to take this time to catch everyone up on whats been going on since Weekend at Bernies. Therefore, this edition of the Examination Room will do just that. I plan on going over three things in this column. First, I want to let you people know some of the things that happened at our various house shows in September. Secondly, I will be up dating you on the hottest news/rumors/gossip from the front offices and the back stage. Last but not least, I wanted to relay some of the more interesting stories about our superstars lives outside the ring. As I stated above, the MOWs financial problems are hopefully a thing of the past. The Weekend at Bernies PPV, and four-day carnival made us enough money to pay off the legal fees from the Madmania controversy. The carnival also gave us enough money to go out on the road and do the nine house shows we had in September. The success of these house shows, as well as our new television and pay per view contracts, should keep us in the black for quite some time. We look forward to seeing our fans all across this great nation of ours, as well as in our neighboring Canada. We will now be presenting our weekly Asylum show on a national cable network, instead of a regional channel. We have also secured a pay per view deal with a company that will put us in more homes than our last provider. The problems we had with our previous pay per view provider are the reason that our inter company show will be presented on home video at a later date, rather than live on PPV. The Dysfunctional Family Picnic has also been rescheduled due to the logistics of getting all of those wrestlers from various promotions in the same place, at the same time.
The house shows we put on were very action filled, it is a shame they couldnt be aired on television. Newly crowned Heavyweight Champion, Steamroller Stan, defended his title four times. He had hard fought victories against General James, and Aftershock, while he literally steamrolled over Vengeance, and won by disqualification against G-4. A hot new feud has begun in the Hardcore Tag Team division, as Bernie Lomaxs team of Philthy Phil and Fast Eddie, the Bastards and the Bad Ass Assassins have been going tooth and nail. Over the course of the month, they had six brutal matches, with each team scoring three decisive victories over the other. I think this is a feud to keep an eye on, as I believe these two young teams are the future of this division. Zombie went to war on anyone he could get his hands on in or out of the ring, and let everyone know that he wants his title shot. Tag Team Champs, Doomsday, defeated 3 local teams from local promotions as well as 6 of the MOW teams. The G-4 continued his almost Jekyl/Hyde personality, in matches against Tremor, Millinator, Bloodhunt and Vengeance. This big man is a paradox, happy and dancing one minute, powerbombing someone through a table the next. He has also made a habit of using his opponents finisher on them at the end of the match. The Rat Bastard was caught handing disposable razors to the crowds, to be tossed at Creature on his way to the ring. When confronted about this, he admitted to being responsible for this prank from the beginning. Since we werent on television, Jester didnt have to defend the TV Title, just keep it hidden from Doom. On a lighter note, the Rat Bastard and Narn the Mad Celt, have made quite a name for themselves in bars throughout the Midwest. Since forming some sort of bond at Weekend at Bernies, the two have been hitting bars together, and causing some trouble. The two of them even invited Mechanic out, once we returned to Madison, both said he drinks like a girl. Those are pretty much the highlights of our little Midwestern tour; to all of you who joined us, thank you very much we had a great time.
The Guardian was formally released from his contract after his lackluster performance at Weekend at Bernies. He was not available for comment, but Commissioner Pickle stated If he doesnt want to work here, I could get him a job at Pizza Pit! Axe has failed to appear at any of the house shows, and hasnt been heard of at all. Mr. Pickle has imposed a series of fines on him. $500 for each house show, and $1000 for any missed TV tapings. So far, Bernie Lomax has been paying the fines, but why and for how much longer we dont know. When asked about the situation, he gave a flat No comment. The official word on Decimators injury is that he has two ruptured lumbar disks, and a cracked vertebra. He has undergone surgery, and is expected to be out of action for six to seven months. Devastator has stated that he will not compete in singles matches while his partner is out. He will instead take time off, and stand by Decimator through his surgery, rehab, and recovery. The Lord of Hellfire and the Dark Ones have been seen in each others company a lot lately. Hellfires references to that little pain can only mean bad things for our quirky commissioner, but what could these three be up to? The Evil Dead still have yet to really convey the purpose or direction that they have, if any. The group seems to move in several different directions at once. I for one, think they are just waiting for the right time to strike. Archangel only appeared at three of the house shows, and when reached for comment he said he was busy. I can only speculate as to what this seven-plus footer is up to. If I were Hellfire, I wouldnt take my eyes off of this guy for very long at all. The damage estimate on Bernies home/estate is just under one million dollars. I wonder if insurance would cover that. Warlock has been attending stress management classes to deal with his Doom problem. If Warlock could just get that giant on the right track, I think he would have control of one of the most dominant forces in our or any other promotion. Thats it for news Im afraid, and it is also the end of this edition of the Examination Room. Hopefully it wont be three months before I get the next one out. Next time I plan on having more backstage/behind the scenes stuff for you to chew on. In addition, the spotlight on the MOW has been postponed, and I am currently working on one of Steamroller Stan. Keep an eye out for an in depth look at our new Champ. Until next time, take two aspirin and call me in the morning, my alarm clock is broken!
Yours in good health, |
