August 26, 2000 Mid-Atlantic Squadron game day at Chris Janiec's house

Jason Stubbs displays his plate he won as the World's Largest Dawn Patrol.

Jim Barber, staring into space. It's probably his turn.

Chris Janiec plans out his turn during the 2nd game of the day.  Jim Barber and Graham Cox in S.E.5as were escorting me in a Sopwith Dolphin on a balloon busting mission when we happened across a flight of Germans attacking a supply depot.   Kurt Konegen and Jason Stubbs flew Halberstadt CL.IVs and Chris flew a Fokker D.VII.  At one point, Jason crossed the T on Graham, critically wounding Graham's pilot, who survived. But Graham wasn't satisfied and took it upon himself to make all the AA rolls against Jason.  One head-on burst of heavy archie burst and two head-on bursts of MG fire made Jason's engine go up like a Roman candle, helping to save the supply depot.

Jason is relieved to be flying with Graham, not against him, in mission 3. Jim, Chris, and I in French Nieuport 24s fought Kurt in a Pfalz D.III, Jason in a triplane, and Graham in an Albatros D.Va. Graham was on fire (figuratively not literally) and after shredding my wings, causing my engine to smoke, and shooting out my windscreen, he proceeded to scare Jim into attempting an overdive to escape the attacking Albatros. Jim broke apart, and I managed to escape, just barely.

Is he thinking, or alseep?

Kurt in an Albatros D.III and Graham in an early Fokker D.VII think over tactics as they attempt to fend off a superior force of Jim, Chris, and I in Sopwith Dolphins. I hit Kurt's fuel line, sending him down, while Graham scored his second kill of the day when he critically wounded Jim's pilot who rode his spinning machine all the way in. They didn't do badly, considering being outnumbered and in inferior or underpowered machines.
