M A John flays KPCC recommendations

KOTTAYAM: Congress leader M A John said that the new liquor policy recommended by the KPCC would tear down the secular façade of the Congress party.

Speaking to reporters here, John said that the haste with which the entire leadership of the party buried their hatchet to take a decision in favour of a few abkari dons would force the public to view the future decisions of the party through the eyes of religious and community interests. He pointed out that the decision would cut at the root of the Gandhian legacy, which was so crucial to the party. He added that the KPCC and the Congress had failed to keep the promises they had made to lakhs of farmers during the election campaigns.
