Govt has been broadcasting continuously that they don't
have any money! The state owns more than 3000 crores
already in the short term. The white paper issued by the Govt has been warning about price increases for electricity, transport and others. Congress Leader M.A.John is correctly asking the government to find the longterm solution to the problem instead of short term patchwork. The State has been made bannkrupt because of the third class rule of United Fronts since 1967! No attempts have been made to lay down the foundation for industry and agriculture. Kerala 's spice revenue and exports have been seriously affected. The Govt and the people missed the global changes happening in the international market place. No attempts have been made in the last 50 years to convert agricultural products into industrial packed products suitable for the modern market. For example, cocconut price was solely dependent on selling coconut oil to soap companies. In Western countries coconut appears in the market in the form of chocolates, toffees and several small cakes. In the land of coconuts we do n't have any of them! Sri Lanka exports dessicated coconuts to Europe (brand Maggi by Nestle). Thailand does the same. Pineapple, mango and other fruit juices are exported from Indonesia to West in large quantities. Not from India! Thailand packed Jack fruit is available in Europe (about 50 ruppees for 250 gram) while the same jack fruit goes wasted in the abundant season in Kerala. One can go on .... Our coir industries have been totally destroyed by the actions of the so called leftist parties and trade union activities. KSRTC and KSEB are white elephants. Both are overstaffed and run in a totally inefficient way. Colossal waste of public money. Both should be de-nationalized. KSRTC FP busses are also reckless on the road and a threat to road safety! International Forum of Congress Parivarthanavadikal strongly supports M.A.John's statement in this situation. |
