"Hey...Tom, this is a really big library...And...I think you can find some information...on a lot of stuff..." "Wow, Seymore, you are really smart." Sicilia said in a sarcastic tone behind Seymore. "Listen, you stupid girl, you are the one who is invading our pivacy and bombarding us with your blasted precense. You do not have the right to complain or insult us without getting hit if you keep your snotty little I am better then you attitude. So shutup or leave, or in my favor, let me punch you in the face." Was his reply with a snap. It seemed a war had started between the two, and they were both determined to win. "How dare you go off on me like you are some kind of leader who knows something? At least i know how to wash my hair!" "Do not insult my hair!! I take great pride in my hair because it does exactly what it is supposed to do." "Oh, is it a shield for your crusty white face? I knew you had a secret!" Everyone but Seymore began to laugh, and he began to scowl. "That is not funny!" He began to blush and his black hair fell in his face. "Actually, Seymore, it is..." Tom butted in while laughing at his friend. "Tom Marvolo Riddle, mind your own business and go find out about your blasted Chamber of Secrets!" "You idiot! You weren't supposed to say anything about that!" "You two are going to try and find the Chamber? But which one of you is the heir?" "..." The loud and yelling children had yet again been silenced by an outburst. Seymore was looking out of a window as though nothing had happened, Tom was hissing under his breath, Sicilia was snickering and Beckah was in complete awe. She was in a stupor, and she looked as though she had no clue what was going on. "Good one, Seymore. Now we are stuck with your little girlfriend. Hope you are elated." "What? Girlfriend??" Seymore was no longer crusty pale, in fact, he was a pretty brick color. He began to stare out of the window more intently. Sicilia had quickly stopped laughing, and she was staring in awe with Beckah. Tom sighed and walked into the library where books were flying around. Beckah followed, but Seymore and Sicilia seemed in too much shock to move. They stayed outside. "Well, Tom, you are looking for information on the Chamber of Secrets? That would most definately be in the restricted section. I'm looking for some information on the three unforgiveable curses. You know anything about them?" "Nothing whatsoever. But I do find these flying books interesting. How do we get to the restricted areas?" "First-years? You have got to be kidding me. You would have to be a teacher's pet to get in there. You would have to be number one in the class. It is nearly impossible to get there without some sort of recomendation. You would have to have an invisibility cloak or a powerful invisibility spell to get in without authorization!" A young girl ran over to them to see what they were talking about. She had deep brown hair and dull green eyes. She wore glasses that were severely outdated and she had a raspy yet gentle voice. "You two need to get in somewhere where we aren't allowed? I can help ya there. My name is Amanda Potter." "Tom Riddle. Nice to meet you, and yes, we need to get to the restricted section of the library."
Outside of the door Sicilia and Seymore were staring at each other in awe. Seymore was frowning in an embarassed manner, and Sicilia was trying not to laugh. "So...you like me?" "What Tom says and what I feel could be two totally different things. Do you like me?" "I think you are cute! And funny. Yeah, I like you. But we are not well acquainted yet. If you act nice, I will like you more." "...thanks...I...uh...like you too...and...would like...to...gettoknowyoubetter...i...guess..." "Aww..you are sooo cute and sweet! I can see why you make friends so easily! Well, I gotta go check out the dormitories, so unless you want to come...I'll see you around." "No offense, but I'll have to see you around. G'day." "G'day, Seymore." She ran off quickly giggling as she went. He was left behind to sigh with relief. Then he decided to follow Tom and see what he was up to. "Yeah, I'll help. I have an invisibility cloak, and I'll let you borrow it, that is, if you will do me a favor later." "Sure, we will do you a favor." "You know that Snape? He sat with you earlier, well, we have had problems in the past, and I was wondering if you could curse him or something just for spite?" "Seymore? You want me to curse my best friend?" "Yeah...because of something he did to me when I was four...but anyway...could you?" "Well...I guess...I could do something...but it will have to wait." "Here is the cloak, give it back when you don't need it. Bye." She ran off through the door Seymore had just entered, and the look on his face spit out pure rage and hatred. "Oh, so now Mr. Riddle here is going and making friends with the enemy? How pleasant. The heir of Slytherin has now gone and betrayed his ancestry. Great." Tom cringed at being called by his father's name. He also regretted the fact that he had indeed sworn to curse Seymore to find out some information about a legend. It seemed that it may not be worth the trouble he went through to get a book or two. But he had the cloak as long as he wanted, and he could learn about much more than the Chamber if he regulated his studies. Besides, his first year would be pretty dull, he had plenty of time to get some extra reading done. But his friend was right, he really shoudln't curse him just to get knowledge. But then again, Seymore always said no pain no gain...so he could benefit if he let Tom curse him. "Don't worry Seymore, I won't do anything to you that won't teach you a life lesson. I swear you won't even regret whatever I do to you." "I am no idiot Tom. I know I will not regret it, but you? I think you need to realize who is the bigger guy. And you are pathetic." "Well, no offense Seymore, and it really isn't my business to butt in on your guy talk, but you are still a twig compared to most of the other Slytherins. Most of them seem to be ugly, fat and have the lack of bathing. You two are a couple of steps above them though, so I'll credit you. But you are not the big shots." "Thank you Ms. Dictionary and general trivia of the day. But right now, we are unable to correspond with you and we are not interested in your useless information. Thank you, and have a nice day. Click." Seymore snapped in her face. He was still angry and had her fuming as well. Tom seemed to think the whole scenario funny. He went about his business checking out the library while Seymore and Rebeckah yelled at each other. He looked through books on simple spells, simple potions, and several other subjects before coming to a section on legends. The Chamber of secrets had to be in there somewhere. Out in the nice open, where any student could pick it up. It was convenient and might save Tom the grief of breaking Seymore and his friendship. And there it was, the book he had been looking for. The Chamber Of Secrets: The Slytherin Legend. It was thick and musty, and handwritten. It looked as though it had been put in the wrong section altogether. Tom put it under the cloak and walked over to where Seymore and Beckah were still yelling at each other. "You two done flirting?" They both went silent and red in a nanosecond. Seymore, flustered by a girl for the second time in a day ran out and up to the dorms. Beckah looked at Tom in awe. "You think...he wouldn't like me...would he? You mean he might actually...wow...he is cute..." Tom looked at her confused. He thought she liked him. Not Seymore...or was he wrong...but Sicilia liked Seymore too...so that meant...poor Seymore... "I have no clue. Don't really understand him all that well. He might.I found the information I needed though, so lets go to the dorm. I have a bunch of studying to do." |
