Freeza Saga
The Freeza Saga begins as Krillin, Gohan, and Bulma all go into one different space ship from Goku (When he is healed he travels separately) and head to the planet Namek to look for the Namekian Dragon balls. It takes two months in Dr. Briefs� custom space ship to get to the planet. What happened on the way there? The gang met up with many odd enemies like the Space Ark Children, Zaakro, and Raachi (From the horrible, fake planet Namek filler episodes). Separately, Goku goes on to Namek as well in a custom Capsule Corp ship that Dr.Briefs made. The ship had a special gravity device that can multiply the Earth's gravity up to 100 times. This increases Goku�s power level incredibly, making his maximum before the Captain Ginyu fight 500,000. Vegeta also ventures to Namek to seek revenge on Freeza. Vegeta has no chance of beating Freeza when he first arrived but he received numerous power ups from his battles with Rikoom, Kiwi, and especially Zarbon. Every battle increased Vegeta's fighting strength but even after Dende healed him, he had no chance of beating Freeza.
When Goku finally arrives he narrowly saves Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta from the Ginyu Force and disposes of all of the "elite" warriors easily. The only one that gives Goku trouble is Captain Ginyu, who would've lost within minutes had he not changed bodies with Goku. Goku is beaten very severely by Ginyu and Vegeta brings Goku to a rejuvenation tank to regain his strength. While Son Goku is healing, it is up to Vegeta, Krillin, Gohan, and Piccolo to fight Freeza. Piccolo received a 42,000 power-up from his fusion with Nail so he gave Freeza a very hard time. Gohan also holds his own against Freeza and receives a power-up as well from Dende when Dende heals him. Eventually, Freeza gets to his final transformation and it is Vegeta's turn to fight. Vegeta just had a power increase when he convinced Krillin to beat him within an inch of his life so Dende could heal him. Vegeta explains that a Saya-jin power level increases greatly after serious injury. A Vegeta look to be winning at first but eventually just gets absolutely crushed by Freeza. Goku is now fully healed and makes his way to the battlefield to confront Freeza. Goku sees Vegeta lying close to death and Vegeta begins to explain the details of his childhood and what made him so evil. He tells Goku that he really never had a choice of whether or not to be good or evil because Freeza and Vegeta's Father, (King Vegeta), raised him from birth to be a murderer. Freeza says that even a Saya-jin corpse won't shut up and delivers the final blow with an energy beam through Vegeta's heart. Vegeta sheds a single tear and tells Goku not to let Freeza kill anyone else. Goku buries Vegeta and the fight between the two monsters begins.
Goku�s power level is now beyond comprehension to the rest of the Z Warriors, but he lacks the anger or great sorrow needed to turn Super Saya-jin. He can hold his own pretty well against Freeza until Freeza powers up to 50% of his maximum power. Both warriors admit they are holding back and agree to fight with full power. Freeza started gaining the advantage over Goku and seemed unbeatable (even with the Genki Dama) until he made one fatal error in judgment, he killed Krillin. This is the single event that pushes Goku over the edge and provides the anger needed for Goku to become a Super Saya-jin. Freeza at 50% is no match at all for SSJ Goku. Then Goku, wanting a real challenge, allowed Freeza to reach 100% of his full power. Now Goku�s power level was only higher than Freeza�s by about 2 million. Freeza is now completely bulked up and angry beyond belief because his worst nightmare, a Super Saya-jin, has arisen to defeat him. The fight now goes on furiously while the planet Namek disintegrates around the two warriors. (Earlier in the saga everyone on Namek, including Vegeta was wished back to Earth and away from the unstable planet. Now Goku has no one to worry about and can fight with nothing occupying his mind but victory.)
The fight now reaches a breaking point when Freeza throws two seeking Kienzans at Goku and Goku makes them come back and cut Freeza into three pieces. Freeza was defeated by his own attack and was close to death. Goku talks to Freeza and even gives him a small amount of his own energy. This energy is supposed to be used as just enough for Freeza to escape into space. Freeza is too evil to accept this charity and uses the energy to form a single Kienzan to throw at Goku. Goku is in the air on his way to the spaceship when the Kienzan just misses his head and leaves a scratch on his face. Now Goku is mega-pissed and turns Super Saya-jin again. Goku is disgusted by Freeza and delivers the final energy blast that destroyed him.... or did it.
