Android Saga
Freeza�s Final Battle is not really a separate saga but part of the Android Saga. Everyone who died was wished back and they are all on Earth. Somewhere in space King Cold, the father of Freeza, flies around the debris where the planet Namek used to be. Cold and his henchmen find the mangled body of Freeza floating in space and rebuild him to form Cyborg Freeza. Freeza tells his father to set a course for Earth while King Cold laughs that a member of his family could be destroyed by a worthless Saya-jin. All of the Z Warriors can sense the great ki of Freeza and King Cold approaching so they go out to wait to defend the Earth. Freeza is on his way to Earth to seek revenge on Goku. Without Goku, all the Z Warriors can do is wait for the spaceship to land and prepare to fight.
The space ship finally lands and Freeza orders his henchmen to go kill the Z Warriors. Just as the henchmen fly off, a mass of body parts falls to the ground. Another Super Saiya-jin has sliced the henchmen into pieces. This Super Saya-jin is only a teenager but is incredibly powerful. Fear suddenly rushes over Freeza when he sees the eyes and hair of the same creature that defeated him before. This Super Saya-jin is not Goku but Future Trunks. Trunks disposes of Freeza with ease as he cuts Freeza into a million pieces and then blasts the pieces to dust with an Ki blast. He even takes out King Cold, who is supposedly much stronger than Freeza, without even breaking a sweat.
Trunks now goes down to greet the Z Warriors who are grateful but weary of the powerful teen. Vegeta says that it is not possible for another Saya-jin to be alive, let alone a Super Saya-jin. Trunks says that he has come to talk to Son Goku who will be arriving in approximately three hours. The warriors have no choice but to wait for Goku to return and so begins the Android Saga�
Goku�s ship finally lands after three hours and he is greeted by all of his friends. Goku explains that he was on the planet Yardjratt and the Yardratto-jin (jin means people in Japanese, so the Yardratto-jin means Yardjratt people) taught him a very good technique. This is why he didn't come back to Earth right away, because he wanted to train. He was only able to learn one technique in that long time because it was very difficult to perfect. The move was called Shunkan Idou, or Instantaneous Movement. Vegeta suggested that the move was simply Goku moving really, really quickly. Goku says that the move is genuine and he makes an example of this by teleporting to Kame House, nearly 10,000 kilometers away, and bringing back Muten Roshi's trademark sunglasses. This just blows everybody�s mind of course and then Trunks (remember him) asks to talk to Goku alone.
Trunks takes Goku aside away from the others and asks him to go Super Saya-jin. Suddenly, Trunks pulls out his sword and slashes at Goku, stopping only centimeters from his face. Goku doesn't move at all and Trunks asks why he didn't move. Goku says he didn't move because there was no killing intent. Trunks says he understands and tells Goku that he will not stop the sword this time. Goku says okay and blocks every swing of Trunks' sword with a single finger. Trunks is amazed and says that Goku really is better than the legend says he was. Trunks says that now he can trust Goku and tells him that he is from a grim world twenty years in the future where the world is a horrible place to live. He tells Goku that he is the son of Bulma and Vegeta and that Bulma made him a time machine so that he can travel back in time. He tells Goku that Dr. Gero has made androids to rule the world. The androids killed all of the Z Warriors except for Gohan and Trunks. Since Piccolo was killed as well the dragon balls were gone and no one could be wished back. He says that Gohan taught him the art of fighting but three years before Trunks traveled back the androids killed Gohan as well. Goku interjects and asks where he was during all of this. Trunks says that Goku caught a heart disease on the planet Yardjratt and died because there was no cure. Goku is totally upset by this, but not because his son dies or because all of his friends are sent to the next dimension but because he didn't get to fight the androids! He actually wanted the challenge!! Trunks says that there is hope because he has a cure for the disease in his time. Trunks says that the androids will appear in May on an island three years from now and the battle will begin. Trunks warns Goku just how powerful the androids are and tells him to train hard to prepare for the battle or he and his friends will be killed for sure.
Trunks has left in his time machine and Goku now goes back to talk with the others. Piccolo now reveals that he has a different hearing system than humans and heard every word of Trunks and Goku�s conversation. Piccolo says if Goku doesn't tell them everything that he will. Goku warns Piccolo not to do anything to mess up Trunks' future (Bulma or Vegeta might not like the idea of having children together and then Trunks might never be born). Luckily Piccolo is very intelligent and weaves out a story with everything the Z Warriors need to know and he skillfully leaves out everything that might jeopardize the existence of Trunks. The Z Warriors now know they MUST train in order to live so they have inspiration to become stronger over the next three years.
Three years later...
Goku, Yamcha, Tienshinhan, Piccolo, Gohan, and Bulma all meet on a mountain at nine o'clock in the morning after three years of strenuous training. Bulma is carrying a baby (Trunks) and the others think it is Yamcha�s but it turns out that Yamcha and Bulma broke up and Vegeta is the father. Now Yajarobe flies over in an air car and gives the Z Warriors a bag of Karin's special Senzu beans. Goku and the others think that Yajarobe has come to fight beside them (he can actually fight you know) but he laughs and gets back in his car and flies away. Now the Z Warriors are waiting and desperately searching for the ki of the androids. Suddenly the sky lights up and there is a huge explosion over the ocean. It is Yajarobe's sky car! One of the androids destroyed it. Gohan saves Yajarobe and the others go out into the streets to find the androids. Yamcha is the first to find the androids, #19 and #20. They are nothing what you would expect them to be. One is a skinny old guy and the other is a fatso, both are dressed as clowns. These two are definitely not to be underestimated. Their power is incredible and they have the ability to steal ki through their hands. Their first act against one of the Z Warriors is when #20, grabs Yamcha by the head, steals his ki, and plunges his hand through Yamcha�s stomach. The other Z Warriors, Goku, Tienshinhan, Krillin, and Piccolo sense the fading ki and go to where the androids are (Gohan remains on the mountain where he brought Yajarobe after the accident). Krillin brings Yamcha back to where Bulma, Gohan, and Yajarobe are to give him a Senzu bean. Now Piccolo, Goku, and Tienshinhan are face to face with the Androids. Android 20 uses his eye lasers to destroy half of the island, killing hundreds of people. Goku becomes very angry and gives #20 a hard, swift punch to the face. The Android is not harmed at all but is knocked back a step and his top hat falls to the ground. His removed hat reveals the Android's head with a human brain encased in a glass dome. Goku now asks the Androids to fly with him to a non-populated area where no innocent bystanders would be harmed. The androids agree and off they go to a nearby plain where they can fight without any "distractions." Now Gohan and Krillin see them flying away and fly off to join them. Yamcha, who is completely healed from his Senzu, is reluctant at first to go because he is petrified of the androids great power. Eventually Yamcha feels like a coward and decides to go after all. He tells himself that he won't fight, only watch.
Now the fight begins between Son Goku and Android 19. Goku appears to be a little bit out of breath even though the battle hasn't even begun yet. The androids gloat for a while about how they have watched Goku and his friends ever since the time when small Goku fought the Red Ribbon Army. They say that he and his friends could not have gotten much stronger and are no match at all for the androids. Android 20 even gloats that only one of the androids could beat Goku alone. Goku laughs and says that the androids have made a fatal error in their research of him. He points out that they were never able to learn of his new level of power. Goku then turns Super Saya-jin in an instant. This does not impress or frighten the androids at all and 20 says that they are still no match for him. Goku cracks a smile and says "Is that so? Well let's see just how strong you are." Now the fighting kicks off witty Goku lunging at 19. The Artificial human is just totally mismatched with Goku. Goku just totally trashes the Android for a long time, making use of his newly learned technique, the teleport. Goku dodges all of the android�s attacks and the fight is completely one-sided. Android 20 watches from the sidelines with a look of awe on his face and is in total shock at how Goku is beating his partner with such ease. Having never seen a Super Saya-jin, Tienshinhan is amazed by the power he is witnessing in Goku. Piccolo is wise and knows there is something wrong with Goku. Piccolo knows that Goku should be expressing even more power than he is and that something is seriously wrong.
Finally, the long battle reaches a pause with Goku completely out of breath. He tries to hold back the fact that he is getting tired already and that something is wrong with him. The fight resumes again with Goku landing several crushing blows until 19 goes on the offensive, forcing Goku to duck and dodge. Now Goku is so tired that he is barely moving out of the way in time to escape 19's punches and kicks. Being so tired, Goku now launches some slow but powerful basic attacks at 19. The android is hit with every attack while #20 thinks to himself that Goku is going to defeat 19 before, 19 can steal Goku�s ki. Now Krillin, Gohan, and Yamcha arrive on the scene and Tienshinhan assures them that Goku is definitely winning. But Gohan and Piccolo, knowing Goku the best, can sense that something is wrong with Goku. Piccolo asks why Goku is stretching the fight out longer than it has to be. He says that Goku was fighting at full power in the beginning but now isn't using that much power at all. Piccolo says that Goku should be much, much stronger than he even is now. Gohan suggests that Goku�s ki might have been drained and Yamcha supports that statement by telling them how Android 20 stole his ki through their hands. Goku is now almost completely out of strength and is holding his sides, breathing heavily. He kicks 19 into a pile of rocks and becomes angry when the android shows no damage, except a few rips in his clothes. Goku, in a fit of rage, powers up a full Kamehameha and fires it at the android. Suddenly 19's face lights up and a grin stretches over his fat, pale face. This is what the androids were waiting for. Android 19 extends a single arm and reveals a red glass ball on the palm of his hand. He absorbs the full energy of the kamehameha and is now recharged. He shows this with a happy sigh of relief. Yamcha blurts out that they can steal ki through their hands. Goku laughs and says, "They can steal ki? That's not funny." Piccolo warns Goku not to fire energy attacks. Now from the sidelines, #20 orders #19 to take advantage of this newfound energy and attack Goku. Android 19 agrees and flies at Goku.
The Artificial Human now beats the injured and tired Goku horribly. Goku tries to fire a ki attack out of instinct but gets reminded by Piccolo and cancels the attack before it is fired. Goku yells out "Damn it!" He now gets beaten even worse by 19 who is disappointed that he didn't fire the attack. They all now figure out that it is Goku�s viral heart disease causing him to be so exhausted. Goku gets a Senzu from Krillin, hoping that it might help him but it doesn't. Goku now gets slammed into the ground very hard and is left there for a few seconds. Goku can now barely lift his head from the ground. Suddenly, Goku�s hair and eyes flash and turn black. Now the worst has happened, Goku has finally lost enough energy to revert back to his normal state. Android 19 now lands near Goku with a smile on his face. He sits on Goku�s chest, pins down Goku�s arms with his feet, and puts his hand over Goku�s mouth. He now starts to drain Goku�s ki. Goku grabs the android by the wrists and tries to remove himself from the android's grip. To no avail, the strongest warrior in the universe, Goku, is beaten as his hands slowly fall from the androids wrists.
The Z Warriors now fly over to help Goku, because they know all hope is lost if Goku�s ki is taken. They are greeted half way by Android 20 who says they should go no further unless they want test him. Piccolo quickly jumps up and catches an eye beam to the stomach. Piccolo falls to the ground as if he were dead. Suddenly the screen flashes back to Goku and 19 and a foot appears out of nowhere and slams into the side of 19's face. This kick tosses 19 off of Goku. Who could it be but the Saya-jin Elite... Prince Vegeta. He says that it is his job to defeat Kakarot. Everyone is amazed and a bit frightened to see Vegeta and just as they are staring in amazement Piccolo rises up from the dust and screams "Damn it Vegeta your getting in my way." He explains that he was pretending to fight poorly so he could surprise the androids and rescue Goku. Piccolo emphasizes that an attack as weak as those eye beams could never defeat him. Vegeta now tells Goku that he saw the whole fight and tells Goku that he is stupid for still fighting even though he knew he had a heart disease. Vegeta then kicks Goku aside into the arms of Piccolo. Yamcha, who isn't going to fight anyway, was told to bring Goku back to his house and give him his heart medicine. Yamcha agrees and flies off into the distance with the defeated warrior. Goku�s battle is over and luckily the fight is left to Vegeta, the next strongest.
Vegeta now reveals to everyone that he has the ability to become a Super Saya-jin as well. He explains how he trained for three years in 450 times Earth's Gravity without Senzu beans but could still not reach SSJ level. He tells about how it was the anger of not being able to become a SSJ that caused the transformation in the first place. He tells how he became so angry with himself that he provided himself with the inspiration he needed to reach the status of SSJ.
Vegeta now begins to fight with Android 19 and totally trashes the android. Vegeta stands up straight as he lets the android punch dead him in the face. He tells the android that Saya-jin become a little reckless when they are in the form of SSJ and that is why he has no fear and why he does not dodge any attacks. They now take the fight to the air and the android is beaten there too. Finally, Vegeta kicks the android into a ditch and purposely lets the android grab his wrists and take some of his energy. The android now tells Vegeta that he will "never let him go." Vegeta laughs at this statement, jumps into the air, and puts his feet into the face of the android. He begins to push against the android's upper body in a leg-press like maneuver. The android still says he will not let go and continues to drain energy. Vegeta now pushes with all of his strength and pulls the android's hands right off. The android stumbles back against the wall of the ditch in shock and looks down at his wrists spurting an oil-like substance. Vegeta pulls the severed hands from his arms and crushes them. The android is now completely petrified and climbs out of the crater and begins to run away. Vegeta flies up into the air above the fleeing android and fires his special attack, the Final Flash. Android 19, no longer able to absorb ki through his hands is vaporized by the attack and his severed head rolls away. Android 20 now is completely flabbergasted by what he just witnessed and fears he too will be defeated by Vegeta. Android 20 realizes that he has made a serious error in judgment of the power of the Z fighters. He begins to run away (all androids are programmed to go back to Dr. Gero�s lab if something goes wrong). Vegeta gets a Senzu bean from Krillin and goes after #20. All of the other Z Warriors join in the chase.
Elsewhere, Future Trunks comes back to look for the Z Warriors. He sees the severed head of Android 19 lying on the ground and realizes that everyone has been fighting the wrong Red Ribbon Androids. Trunks realizes that his going back in time must have changed the timeline and made different androids appear. Trunks goes to find the others and join in the battle.
Android 20 is now surrounded and he tries to steal Piccolo's energy. He succeeds in stealing some of it but Gohan is contacted telepathically by Piccolo and comes behind to save him. Piccolo is restored back to full power with a Senzu bean and Trunks now catches up with everyone else. Trunks tells the others that they are fighting the wrong androids and everyone is confused as to what is going on. Trunks says that Androids 17 and 18 are the ones to worry about but haven't been woke up yet. Trunks tells them that they should go to Dr. Gero�s lab and destroy the androids before #20 can wake them up. Suddenly Bulma, with Chibi (baby) Trunks and Yajarobe fly over in an air car. Android 20 fires an energy attack to destroy the sky car as a diversion to escape. Trunks save his mother and young self as well as Yajarobe. Bulma now tells them that Android #20 is Dr. Gero. Bulma recognized him because she was around when Goku fought Gero and his Red Ribbon Army as a child. He put his brain into an android's body so he could live to see Goku die. Gohan takes Yajarobe, Bulma, and Chibi Trunks back to Bulma's house. Dr. Gero knows that the Z Warriors are going to try to destroy the other androids so Dr. Gero races back to his lab to wake them up before that. The Z warriors are on their way after Gero to stop him before he can wake up the other, much more powerful androids.
Dr. Gero knows the location of his own lab so he gets there sooner than the Z Warriors. Dr. Gero wakes up Androids 17 and 18 and they totally demolish his lab. The androids crush Dr. Gero's special remote, the only thing that can control or disable the androids. Soon after that the Z Warriors arrive, only to find Android 17 cutting off the head of his creator, Dr. Gero. With Dr. Gero finally killed for good, and the remote destroyed, the Androids are now free to do what they were meant to do. Kill Son Goku. But before they do they have to wake up another artificial human with the same goal... Android 16. Android 16 is one of the strongest of the three androids but refuses to fight when asked to. He says his only reason to fight is to kill Son Goku and doesn't want to hurt anything or anyone. The androids and the Z fighters now all move to a more desolate location to fight.
Vegeta is the first to begin the fighting against Android 18, the blonde girl. Now comes one of the best scenes in all of Dragonball Z. The fight is looking down for Vegeta who is getting beaten badly. This is mainly because the androids have everlasting ki, while regular fighters, like Trunks and Vegeta lose ki as the battle progresses. Suddenly, after being tossed into some rocks and beaten severely Android 18 spin kicks Vegeta right above the elbow. The scene now goes to slow motion as the bones in Vegeta's arm snap and everything below his elbow rotates around. The palm of his hand now is facing forward. Vegeta drops to his knees, clenches his teeth, and screams out in agony. Trunks now can no longer contain himself and joins in the battle. Android 17, seeing the fight is no longer fair, joins in the battle as well. The rest of the other warriors join in as well except for Krillin, who is stricken with fear. The two Androids easily make short work of Tienshinhan, Piccolo, Trunks, and Vegeta. Krillin sees this and knows for sure that he is no match for the androids. Being the only one left standing, Krillin is confronted by the Androids. The androids do not wish to fight though, they tell Krillin that everything is a game and that they would be happy to fight the Z Warriors again once they regain their strength.
