You follow Atlas off the path, away from the river, and back into the forest. It seems that you and Atlas are in a different part of the forest. Atlas looks around expectantly, and then walks into the growth. After a few minutes of silence, a creature runs out of the bushes, kicking and rearing- and it isn't Atlas. Atlas peers out of the trees, and then walks out. The creature calms down after a while, and Rita hops over. She opens her mouth to speak, but Atlas coughs and glares at her. She backs down.
"Now, this is Ruth. He's a Derissa." Atlas nods at Ruth, as if telling him it was his turn to speak. But the creature does not open his mouth. Just then, you hear a voice. But it's inside your head, strangely enough... I am Ruth. A derissa. You hit yourself hard in the side of the head, to make sure you're not hearing things. The only thing you manage to do is make your head hurt- well, at least now you're sure you're not going mad. I suppose there isn't much to say to a traveler. You shall uncover more as you move on... You blink. What's he trying to tell you? You shrug it off, and turn back to Atlas. He shrugs. Ruth walks back into the tree growth, and another Derissa appears. It is a tiger striped one. 
Hello, visitor. I'm Saberhorn.
You blink. She does have tiger striped, so she could be named after the sabertooth tiger... I come from the same origin as Ruth. You notice she is stirring up a cloud of dust with her tail. You sneeze, and when you open your eyes again, she is gone. How strange. "You've met Diane?" Atlas asks you, approaching you after talking with Rita. "Diane?" you blurt out. "Who's Diane?" Atlas rolls his eyes. "Saberhorn...? Know her?" "Oh." You walk down the path again, and you notice two sets of stats carved into a tree.
