"Oh, you'll like Kavadere!" Amiryllis says enthusiastically. "He may seem nasty at first, but once you get to know him he's real soft-hearted!"
You walk over to a little pool in the ice. "Kavadere! Can you come up?"
"NO."
"C'mon, buddy."
"NO!"
"Pleeeeeeeze?"
"NO!"
"Um...he can be soft-hearted?"
"Yes. Don't doubt him! He's a sweetie with an attitude problem." She looked over at the water and smirked.
"WHAT?" A pure white fish jumped out of the water onto the land. "WHAT DID YOU SAY?"
"I noticed."
"And we were talking about how you're so hard to get to know."
"Grrrrrrrrrr..."
"But when you DO get to know you, how nice and sweet you can be."
"Well, when you put it THAT way..."
"Yeah?"
"O.K, O.K, fine. I'll talk for a LITTLE bit."
"Oh, yay, thanks Kavy!"
"Anyway, who's that?"
"Oh, I'm visiting the Weyr and wanted to meet you." You say, laughing a little at Kavadere's sudden change of attitude.
"Ah." Kavadere said slowly. "And I suppose you have a reasonable explination for why you are laughing?"
"Cool it!" Amiryllis said. Then she turned to you and mouthed change the subject!
"So, what are you?"
"Ah, good question. I am a Gargoyle Fish, gifted in NO types of magic whatsoever. My race used to be intellegent humanoids, but we were cursed to be in the form we are in today. I am from SkyHaven Adoptions, and I AM SPECIAL!!!!"
"O.K. We know." Amiryllis mutters. "Sorry buddy, but we gotta go! Dunno if I can stand any more of your bragging!"
"Pthooy!" Kavadere says angrilly as he jumps back into his pond.
"Bye-bye bud!" Amiryllis calls. She is answered by a stream of ice water aimed straight at her back. She throws a rock into the pool and walks away, muttering things you don't want to know.
