Rockin R Ranch
About our funny farm ranch life.
Entry for March 13, 2008

For those that didn't know, I have been selected as one of the riders in the Extreme Cowboy Race at the NW Horse Fair and Expo in Albany. It is in two weeks exactly. I am going to try to keep a small blog every day until we go. I am taking my Arab, Chazzara. She is doing very well. My only reservation for this race is that this time around the race is in a fully enclosed arena. We do great out side. I can go through water, over logs, open and close mail boxes, pull a log, and I'm even doing okay with throwing a rope as well. Scott made a car wash with strips of tarp for me and we are even going through that very well now. We can do flying lead changes, have a little trouble with haunch turns, but doing well. Still working on opening and closing a gate without taking my hands off. And we do good with side passing a small log, but not so good if it's more than six inches around.

I am hoping that Chazzara will be okay and not be spokey in the arena. She does good at our fairgrounds, but I don't get to ride inside the enclosed Compton Arena. I am just going to keep working on everything as much as possible until we leave.

Today was an uncoopertive day. It's been sprinkling off and on and I don't have time until later this afternoon. We have a gymkanna on Saturday that I am looking forward to also. I can't wait.
